Good Bag, High Quality, Imperfect.

This bag feels premium, has high quality materials. Holds My camera, and I trust it to keep it safe. What I would want that I did not get was: - More Pockets - There's many places on the bag where more storage space can be, id love some even smaller pockets for SD cards or some pockets that can fit more items, as the ones on the side are awkwardly sized. - Bag Opening - I would love a way to open the bag and have the flaps stay completely open, often I open and the flaps close themselves, making it so I can not see well into the bag without holding it open. - Card holding slot - a little card holder that can allow me to more easily put my name and contact info on this in case I leave it at a location. - Wheels

Great bag, cheap zip pulls

Pros: -Stiff clam-shell opening reinforcement rods -Durable with pockets and modularity Cons: -Zip pulls both broke the day it arrived. Easily replaceable but definitely a cheap component.

Close to perfect

This bag has so many positive features I'd still recommended it. Frustrating though as a few small tweaks would take It to 5 stars. All easy fixes by the manufacturer. The out side double pockets have Velcro flaps - zippers and flaps would make me more confident small items would stay put and dust would stay out. The biggest issue though are the zipper pulls. Comfortable and easy to see but worthless. Broke on about the third pull. Very poorly constructed. The zipper needs a pull to work comfortably. I'll have to find a replacement.

A sturdy, quality bag

Excellent bag. Only drawbacks are only 3 large external pockets (not further subdivided in anyway) and that the bag is hardcase and functions by prying it open like a clam if you need to fit something rather wide in it.

Decent Bag, but Zipper is not...

I legitimately got the bag, pulled it out of the packaging, put my FS5ii in it and went to close the zipper when - SNAP! The zipper broke. The handle piece so to speak broke right off. I have made a makeshift zipper handle out of string for now, but super disappointing since it was THE VERY FIRST TIME I closed the bag.

Good bag for getting your gear around

Works very well for what I needed nice large size. Only complaint is that it does not come with wheels like in the picture that must be a add-on or something to be able to pull it around.

Well Padded, Longer than Expected

Very happy with the purchase of the bag, got it on sale and it was well worth it. I got it to use in conjunction with my FX6 so it can be left fully built and ready to shoot. Its not wide enough to fit the FX6 in with the screen and the side handle but fits just fine with the screen off. It is plenty long enough. I had it rigged with a V mount, 28-135 + a 3 stage matte box (with rotating it 90*) and it fit snug. Justtt had enough room to sneak in my directors monitor too. Got it and immediately Took it on a 4 day on-location doc shoot and stood up well to being flung around in damp and dusty conditions. Main zipper is heavy duty and is a nice welded canvas style. I was able to stuff the side pockets full of extra things too. It looks black with green accents in pictures but is actually a very muted dark green/almost brown color with green accents. All in all its worth getting this verison.

I bought 2 of these and within 2 weeks of light use they both had issues - namely the handles - poor stitching, etc - They are now only used for storage - you can't rely on them for actual use... I understand they are not Portabrace quality but these really are poorly made and they will fall apart on you... I own the little 10 that they have and that is the same quality... There are better cases for the same money. even on sale it's not worth the price IMHO

Confused, Specs state interior is 21" long AND will hold a 21" camera. But reviewers state that the interior INSIDE the padding is 17". What are the dimensions INSIDE the padding? I want to fit a camera+lens+hood, at about 19", 20" would be ideal.

The interior dimensions of this bag are 21.00 L x 8.5 W x 8.0" H.

question

Reading the specs on the 30, it appears that this bag will take a laptop with a dslr and some accessories, maybe sliding the laptop in next to the long divider, would that actually be reasonable? I'm looking at this bag as airplane carry-on. Thanks!
Asked by: David L.
Never thought of this as an airplane carryon, but sounds like a great idea! I just opened up my bag, and even though it's about 13 inches deep on the outside, the inside (with all the great padding) is probably about 9 inches deep, so not sure a laptop could be placed from front to back, but it could from side to side, with room to spare for your assessories. The padding dividers can be adjusted (they stay in place with velcro). It is a great bag for my large camcorder. I don't know what a dsir is? Hope this helps.

would a Sony FS7 camera with lens and matte box attached fit?

Might be a little snug in my judgement. I use it for the Sony PXW-Z100 to give you some kind of reference. Hope this helps!

question

I'm looking for a shoulder bag to fit roughly 10 prime lenses for still, on location shoots. I currently have 2 Thinktank Speed Racer V2.0 that carry all the lenses, and mini video monitors, cables, etc. to show clients previews. Would this bag work? I don't mind not having each lens in a partition.

Bag is pretty nice. Little heavy but sturdy. Big disappointment was the shoulder strap breaking on day 1. The clip stretched / straightened out when bag snagged on seat in my car. I did not pull it very hard either, I promise. Otherwise it is a brilliant bag. The water-proof zipper is very tight and I am cynical that won't last either but I'm confident the zipper under the small under-zipper rubber flap is sturdy and will remain serviceable. The inside dimensions on the DR 30, INSIDE the cushioning is about 17 x6 . The DR40 bag (I also have) will get you 22 x7 . Hope this helps.
