FLM CB-48 overview

  • 1Description

The FLM CB-48FTR Professional FT Series Ball Head with SRB-60 QR Clamp has a maximum load capacity of 77 lb, stands 3.9" high, and weighs 1.3 lb. It has a Pan-Rast System (PRS) button which allows easy removal of the ball head from the tripod and provides an audible click every 15° of rotation. Separate pan and tilt locks, as well as a tension control allow for precise control over the ball and head movements.

The SRB-60 is an open channel Arca-type compatible quic-release clamp that allows for different size quick release plates. It has a safety pin so that plates will not slide out of the clamp when it is loose. A built-in bubble level helps align your camera with the horizon.

    FLM CB-48 reviews

CB-48FTR Professional FT Series Ball Head with SRB-60 QR Clamp is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from a beautifully-made, solid tripod head without much fluff After a lot of research and on-line advice from many users, I decided on this head. It ispretty much as describedon line: solid, beautifully-constructed, with some unusual features, including 15 degree detents for a panorama, a tilt capability and the ability to pre-set tension to allow a quick lock and unlock with very small movement of the lock knob. It fits my Gitzo 2541 tripod perfectly and seems to lock easily with no apparent droop. I prefer the QR clamp over FLM's proprietary clamp system, having had trouble with the clamp on another vendor's proprietary system. The QR clamp works perfectly with all of my not-perfectly-standard Arca-Swiss plates. The head and clamp come in a very unassuming box with a little padding from a foam sheet. There is a single instruction sheet; that's it. Fortunately, easily found videos help with learning how to use the head. It isn't cheap, but I plan on having this for a long time.
