Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not purchase TIMBUK2 Suitcases - Mine died on third time I was so excited as I love the great design and how easy it was to pack. On my third usage - the wheel system broke. I contacted TIMBUK2 and was told that this was ACCIDENTAL and they refused to fix. I travel 100,000 miles a year and I know my suitcases. When I brought up to TIMBUK2 that it was NOT accidental but quality related - I got no further. Poor quality and poor CS - and not standing behind their product (when the main selling point in the store was the great skateboard wheels - NOT) Stick with TIMBUK2s Great Messenger Bags -- and leave the travel wheeled bags to companies that stand by their quality and have customer service that cares.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would not buy this suitecase again! I purchased the Copilet Luggage Roller because of the design and durability. I was very disappointed when the wheel assembly broke on my first trip with the new piece of luggage. I returned to the store where I purchased the luggage and unfortunately, I was past their 30 day warranty limit and the store would not return the luggage. They told me to email Timbuk2 as they have a life time warranty. I did email Timbuk2 and they stated "did not fail due to a manufacturing/materials defect. Our warranty does not cover accidental damage nor wear and tear"....wear and tear when used for one trip. Anyways, I wanted to share my experience so you don't waste your money like I did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HAIRSTYLIST DREAM! I travel back and fourth from Los Angeles to New York doing Hair and I'm telling you I put this luggage through hell and back and it's still the same quality when I got it not 1 rip, busted wheel, or dent. I can't tell you how many subway stairs this luggage has endured on a daily basis for 3 years straight sometime I kick it down the pen station steps cuz I'm so tired and just kinda curious how much I can put it through AND STILL IT STANDS. Worth every penny love the wheels I think that's biggest thing it gets over the New York street cracks easily without yanking my should. The blizzard didn't even mess up the fabric I mean this luggage is a DREAM For a freelance artist!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Handle is a Piece of Junk I just got this back in July. The VERY FIRST time I checked it on a trip for Thanksgiving (I didn't want to but the airline forced me), I picked up the bag from baggage claim and the handle was completely broken. The top part that you pull is completely separated from the telescopic portion on one side. Neither the airline nor Timbuk2 would take responsibility for this and I have to pay out of pocket to replace the handle after writing to both of them and waiting several weeks for a reply. Never buying Timbuk2 luggage again after this experience. It's too bad because the bag is great otherwise, but without a functional and sturdy handle I can't trust it when flying.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Forced to purchase, but so far so good I was forced into purchasing this new bad because my last copilot was ripping and Timbuk2 said it was "normal wear and tear" which it was not, and since I use it for business I had to get one that didn't look like a lion got after it. I used a credit to purchase this bag because another Timbuk2 bag I had broke and after fighting the company they finally gave me a credit. I like the look of this bag as well as the accessibility through the front, however the material that is used on the front of the bag scratches easily when it is open on the floor. I would not purchase another bag from this company as they are over priced and their customer service has been forgotten!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clamshell is a winner I was hesitant on the idea of the clamshell but surprisingly it makes packing 2x better. The easy access flap in the front is useful and overall capacity is awesome. I love the wheels and how quiet they are. The bag is all around stable and well built. The only thing I would improve is the small zipper pouch on the front of the bag. I like to use this for toiletries but it shares the same space as the main compartment so you have be sure you don't pack too full or you'll never fit anything in this pouch. Also seems to fit overhead bins just fine. Never had a problem and I've taken this bag on both domestic and international flights.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective bag, worst customer service I bought this bag in March and have used this bag 6 times in three months. After the first trip, the collapsible handle became sick in the open position and doesn't work. I have to manually push the tiny silver button in the handle down at the same time I push the main button to get the handle to collapse. OK, nothing is perfect, I get that occasionally you might get a lemon. I contacted customer service in April 2016. I still don't have a functioning handle. They made me take multiple photos of the defect to prove that I actually know what I'm talking about. This was after 3-4 weeks of not responding to my emails. They *finally* sent a new handle. Good news-this one works. Bad news-it's the wrong color and doesn't match my bag. Still waiting for someone to resolve this. I've never had to work so hard to use a simple suitcase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too bulky for overhead I don't think this bag is as good looking as last year's model. (And I'm a bit superficial, what can I say. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find that one anywhere, so I went with the new model.) I checked the dimensions and thought I would be able to carry it on, but it didn't fit in the test bin at the gate. The wheels are a bit bulky and protruding. And the material is a bit stiff, so it doesn't have as much give. I'm disappointed with that, since I prefer not to check my bag. The upside is that it is solid Timbuk2 quality, overall.
