    Yongnuo YN-622N-TX reviews

YN-622N-TX i-TTL Wireless Flash Controller for Nikon is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 67.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great and a very good price Not being a pro photographer I felt the Pocket Wizards were out of my budget. I bought this Yongnuo flash controller and three YN622N receivers and they work wonderfully with my flashes. I have a mixture of Nikon, Yongnuo and Meike TTL flashes, and this unit fires them perfectly and from a great distance. I was previously using the Yongnuo 603 transmitter/receiver and while they worked well, I really enjoy the fact that with the 622N-TX I can change the settings of each of the flashes from the camera. These Yongnuos may not be as durable as the Pocket Wizards but for the use I will give them I expect them to be fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great if you follow directions I use this along with the 622N (non-LCD transceivers) on my Nikon system. I use it with a D750 and D800 and SB910, SB900, Bolt, and other generic speedlights. It is very easy to use and controls everything from camera position, including flash head zoom, when you have TTL compatible flashes. Other reviewer stated he could not control the flash, only trigger it, and this is true if you do not have a full TTL compatible flash system to begin with. I also love that it handles HSS very well and transitions seamlessly to HSS range without any user adjustments. It just works. Again, you must be using a flash system that supports high-speed sync for this to work. It basically mimics whatever you can do with your flash system on camera. The only issue I've encounter after at least a year of professional use is that it will occasionally non-fire when around heavy concrete or brick structures and it is around a blind corner. However, this is true with ALL radio transceiver systems that I have used which is most of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value on a trigger that does it all and works well! I wanted these triggers/receivers not only to work in manual and iTTL with my off-camera flash(s), but also to use Super Sync which allows me to shoot much faster than my 1/200th of a second sync speed. I have used Super Sync with speedlights and Alien Bee B800 and B1600 monolights. Yes, it works with those given some fine tuning and when using the YN-622N as receivers. Bottom line, these trigger is affordable, durable enough and it works well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works well, but bad design for tripod use Relatively inexpensive and easy to use. I'm using this with a D750, and this combo is very sensitive to where the TX is placed in the hot shoe or it won't work. Once you get that figured out it's great. However, using it in the hotshoe w/camera on a tripod, you may not be able to see the TX controls or the display since it's then in a horizontal position. You will want a TTL cable to move it off the top of the camera, which is more $ and clutter for wireless triggering. Or remove the TX to change it, or take the camera off the tripod. Ugh. Using the camera off-tripod, it seems fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple and works straight out of the box I purchased this with the new yn968n to make outdoor portraits easier. Yes, I did read the manual and it is the usual bad English from Yongnuo, but it wasn't that hard to figure out. The interface is very similar to the yn560tx with mode buttons and selection group circle. If you are familiar with that system this will be a breeze. Only got this yesterday and after a trial run outside in the sunshine I was able to shoot at f/1.8 and at all shutter speeds from 1/250 through 1/4000 on my D610. It is physically large, about the size of a credit card and an inch thick. The shoe is the screwdown type so nothing fancy here. It lays down flat on the camera so it is less obtrusive than the 560tx.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very Temperamental When they work they're great. (622N-TX coupled with 622N II's.) But they are so inconsistent. One time out they'll flash every time. Next time out, they won't trigger at all except when using the test button. If it's something I'm doing wrong (which I won't rule out) I don't know what it is. I've followed the set up instructions, tried all variations, followed hints on the web and Youtube, but to no avail. Sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn't. I'm giving it 2 stars to acknowledge those times that it does work. If it worked reliably it would definitely warrant 5 stars.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No, I would not buy this product again Per the instructions for the YN622N-TX I-TTL page 2 is he bold typed message Upgrade to the latest firmware version before using. No problem, I can do that. Well I can't do that. The firmware upgrade instructions first step is to download the firmware and software package. Easy enough but when uncompressed it is only an .exe file. This isn't supported on a Apple machine. Searching on the web the only alternative is setting up a virtual machine on an Apple. No where is any of this made known before purchasing. Product my work well but had I known this hidden issue I would't have made the purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from glitchy and unreliable It sometimes works, and when it works, it's great. However, the buttons are sometimes unresponsive. I have put in fresh batteries, checked for secure connection - still happening. Sadly, it is too late for me to return this product. I had good a good experience with the Yongnuo RF 603 II, that does not have any problems but it does not allow for iTTL. I had hoped this would work as well, but as for now, I cannot recommend this product at all.
