8 Gauge Black Power Wire (100') is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gauge not as advertised Like the RPB8xxx product, this wire is actually about 10-gauge. I measured conductor diameter to be 99 mil, or 77% that of 8 AWG spec at 128.5 mil. Hence current-carrying capacity would be assumed to be about 60% that of true 8 AWG wire. It is very fine-stranded, appearing to be 7 x 19 34-gauge. The vinyl insulation, nor opaque red but translucent, is about 70 mil thick, so the overall cable diameter is about 240 mil. It is a bit more flexible than 8-gauge Machine Tool Wire, but inferior in its gauge. B&H customer service was faultless in handling this matter; I opted to keep this and other Pyramid wire purchased for nuisance value and because it is close to worth the price even being under-gauge.
