The BRG1500AVRLCD Intelligent LCD Series Uninterruptible Power Supply from CyberPower comes equipped with a capacity of 1500VA/900W that delivers power for up to twelve electronic devices. This power supply features Automatic Voltage Regulation boost/buck technology, which provides consistent and clean AC power to all your connected equipment such as PCs, monitors, cable DSL/modems, VoIP routers, home theater devices, and more. Furthermore, it has composite integrated circuitry for lighting protection and EMI/RFI filters. The Intelligent LCD UPS provides an integrated panel for displaying real-time UPS vitals. The panel also allows you to change the settings for sensitivity, illumination, and audible alarms.

This mini-tower power supply offers twelve outlets that are capable of absorbing up to 1,500 Joules for keeping your devices safe against surges and spikes. To keep your devices powered during blackouts, brownouts, and sags, six of the outlets deliver power via a 12V lead acid sealed battery. In addition to the outlets, two 2.1A / 5 VDC USB type A ports are integrated into the front of the power supply for charging devices such as tablets, smart phones, MP3 players, and cameras. Other connections offered are serial, USB type B, RJ-11, and coax ports.

This power supply is Energy Star qualified with GreenPower UPS Bypass circuitry for reducing energy consumption and heat buildup to help save energy costs. Included with the power supply is the PowerPanel Personal edition UPS management software for Windows systems. This software requires minimal system resources and monitors the status of the UPS to ensure it is working properly. When a power outage does occur, this software automatically saves open files and powers down the system into hibernation mode. When your PC is running in hibernation mode, the power supply will offer a longer runtime.

Automatic Voltage Regulation

AVR boost/buck technology stabilizes the AC voltage by increasing low voltages and decreasing high voltages to maintain a safe voltage level without switching to battery mode. This conserves battery life and delivers cleaner AC power to connected equipment.

Multifunction LCD Panel

The front LCD panel displays UPS vitals: input voltage level, output voltage level, automatic voltage regulator, battery capacity, energy-saving bypass mode, runtime estimate, load level, output frequency, on battery, overload, fault condition, event logging, and silent mode.

Reduce Energy Costs & Heat Loss

This ENERGY STAR qualified UPS system utilizes patented GreenPower UPS Bypass circuitry to save on energy costs by reducing energy consumption and heat buildup.

Quiet UPS

This uninterruptible power supply comes with an efficient design that reduces sound emissions.

USB Charger

Two 5 VDC USB 2.0 charging ports with 2.1A support are located on the front panel for convenient access to charge portable electronic device such as tablets, mobile phones, MP3 players, and cameras.

USB Connectivity

The HID-compliant USB port enables full integration with built-in power management and auto shutdown features of Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.

Transformer-Spaced Outlets

Widely-spaced outlets accommodate large transformer-based plugs without compromising the utility of other outlets.

EMI/RFI Filters

Shielding against electromagnetic interference and radio frequency signals prevents line noise ("humming") over telephone lines or audio systems.

Audible Alarms

Distinctive tones identify when the unit is running on battery power, if it is overloaded, or when the battery is low.

Resettable Circuit Breaker

Convenient unit reset switch in case of an overload.

PowerPanel Personal Edition for Windows

In event of a power outage, PowerPanel PE saves open files and "hibernates" the PC to increase the runtime on the UPS unit. PowerPanel is easily installed on any Windows-based PC and uses minimal system resources. The diagnostic screen displays the status of the UPS, including silent operation mode, configurable system notifications, automatic self tests, adjustable high/low voltage warnings, event/data logging, and scheduled shutdowns.

What is the best way to store this UPS? I will be using it as a backup.
Asked by: Lynnea
I must admit that I am confused right now. I had put in a request about this issue to CyberPower support and finally did get an answer which was to store the UPS fully charged. You are suggesting reducing the charge to 60% for storage. CyberPower advised recharging the unit every three months when it is in storage. Do you suggest doing this? I am simply trying to get a plan for this. I know what to do, for example, with camera batteries when the camera isn't being used, but I have never had to be concerned about a UPS unit when it is not being used.

Can this unit be plugged into a power strip? I am running out of wall outlets, and need to plug another UPS into a wall outlet.
Asked by: Lynnea
You should not connect a UPS into a Surge protector power strip, it may not work as intended.

question

Is there a distance requirement between the ups and monitor?
Asked by: Windy M.
No. However, if the monitor has to be connected to an extension cord or power strip to reach the UPS, use one with 16 or 18 awg rating.

question

How accurate is the simulated sine wave?
Asked by: Anonymous
The BRG1500AVRLCD has preformed and been tested to meet the technical specifications of the UPS. So it is preforming how the UPS was designed. There are two different types of UPS battery output: Sinewave and Simulated Sinewave. The difference between the two is the output wave form, if you need a pure sinewave UPS i would suggest the CP1500PFCLCD.
