Audio-Technica AT5045 overview

  • 1Description

The AT5045 Cardioid Condenser Instrument Microphone from Audio-Technica offers the performance of a large-diaphragm, side-address condenser in a convenient, stick-type body. It provides an aluminum and brass enclosure for durability and low reflectivity as well as discrete components for optimized functionality. The capsule assembly and circuitry are mounted as a single block within a floating internal shockmount, decoupling the capsule from the microphone body for vibration isolation. There is a transformer coupled output with low noise and 149 dB SPL handling throughout. Additional features include a cardioid polar pattern, a wide frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, and a high dynamic range of 141 dB. The microphone can be used for recording percussion, drums, acoustic guitar, other acoustic instruments, strings, and similar applications. The package include one isolation clamp, one windscreen, and a protective carrying case.

    Audio-Technica AT5045 reviews

AT5045 Cardioid Condenser Instrument Microphone is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT MICS! When my church commissioned me and my company to design, install and maintain new audio, video and lighting systems for our two campuses, I was told to do what I think is best. I have experience with just about every microphone there is on piano. I chose to use these mics, ear unheard, because of the recommendation of my rep Michael Canning and a couple of people who had heard the beta units. We did a shoot out with several other mics AKG, DPA, Earthworks, Shure and Neumann. These mics worked best, In fact, we use no EQ whatsoever on the piano. We were able to place the mics where they needed to be. The mounts are stellar. I would highly recommend these mics for recording as well.
