ZVOX 4007701 overview

  • 1Description

The ZVOX SoundBase 770 125W Soundbar System is designed to deliver optimized sound with powerful bass reproduction. This speaker uses a class-D digital amplifier, and can produce up to 125W of total power for a dynamic audio experience. Housed inside of this soundbar are 5 main speaker drivers and 3 subwoofers. The three 5.25" subwoofers are designed to add powerful bass impact to movie and music soundtracks. Built-in Bluetooth technology allows you to wirelessly stream audio from compatible devices such as smartphones and tablets.

The SoundBase 770 is well equipped for wired device connections with two stereo RCA, two optical, digital coaxial, and 3.5mm interfaces. As an added convenience, stereo RCA and digital optical cables are included. In addition to the included remote control, this soundbar system can be controlled using your existing remote.

PhaseCue II Virtual Surround Sound
The SoundBase 770 uses ZVOX's proprietary PhaseCue II virtual surround processing. This technology is designed to deliver rich, three-dimensional virtual surround sound for movies or music.
Built-In Bluetooth Wireless Audio
This soundbar uses BlueGiga Bluetooth Wireless Audio with aptX for optimal connectivity, range, and sound quality.
Green Design
The SoundBase 770 uses an efficient class-D digital amplifier. Even at loud volumes, it typically consumes less than 10W of total power. And standby power usage is approximately 0.1W.
When you push the "DE" button on the remote control you engage a circuit that mimics the functions of a hearing aid. The frequencies used by human voices are dynamically emphasized, while other frequencies are minimized for clear dialog playback.
Uses Your Existing Remote Control
This SoundBase system can be programmed to respond to your existing remote control. The illuminated display walks you through a programming cycle, and then your remote can control volume, mute, and power functions of the ZVOX system. Once configured, turning on your TV will automatically turn on the ZVOX system. Approximately three minutes after you turn off your TV, the ZVOX system will automatically go into standby mode.
Output Leveling (OL)
Pushing the OL button on the remote control activates the soundbar's internal processing. This feature is designed to make soft sounds louder and loud sounds softer, so there are fewer jarring moments when switching channels or when commercials come on. This system also helps by boosting the audio levels from a DVD or Blu-ray player that is not loud enough.
Disappearing Display
The SoundBase 770 features a four-digit display located behind the speaker grille that shows the current setting for volume, bass, treble, and PhaseCue II (virtual surround). It also shows when you have engaged the mute, Output Leveling (OL), or Dialog Emphasis (DE) features. A few seconds after you stop using your remote (or front panel) controls, the display disappears completely.
Multiple Inputs and Dolby Digital Decoder
The SoundBase 770 has two analog audio inputs, two optical (TOSLINK) digital inputs, one coaxial digital input, and a front-panel 3.5mm analog stereo input for convenient connection of your iPod or other portable audio device. Any specific input can be selected using either the remote control or the slim-line module below the speaker grille. The two digital inputs work with a built-in Dolby Digital decoder, which can improve virtual surround performance, and allow for simplified connections to a wide variety of TVs, cable boxes, and disc players.
Wood (MDF) Cabinet
The SoundBase 770 features a hand-built cabinet of heavy MDF. Its low-profile frame is designed to seamlessly blend with flat-panel TVs.
Additional Features
  • Remote Control Buttons: Power on/off, volume up/down, mute, PhaseCue II (three level settings), bass up/down and treble up/down, input selection, Output Leveling (OL), AccuVoice (ACCU)
  • Designed to match TVs up to 80"
  • The SoundBase 770 is bi-amplified, using a specially designed amplifier that includes electronic contouring for an optimized frequency response

    ZVOX 4007701 reviews

SoundBase 770 125W Soundbar System is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from SoundBase Exceeds my expectations my only slight disappointment was the inability to work with RF remotes as used on the Directv Genie systems, but the older IR controllers work great once Learned ..... My wife and I can now hear and understand what news casts are saying and the surround sound is great for movies.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A good product The sound for voices is controlled through the remote and the treble and bass can also be raised and or lowered to your preference. That's also great for persons with hearing defects. However, although the bass does work fine, it in no way can take the place of an external sub-woofer for movies or to get the full impact of the theater sound. Music videos fall a little short as well. My overall evaluation: For convenience of placement, it works well and the sound is good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The 770 is used to solve a tv listening problem. under my tv to solve a listening prolem in a house with high ceilings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A whole new level Changes the environment from watching TV to a Cinematic moment. Toggling the sound base on and off, makes the purchase a no brainer. I shopped Sonos and Bose. Sonos was comparable, but more money. Bose was lacking in mid range big time. The one thing that sealed the deal was the ACCU mode, which makes listening to dialogue so much easier. No more 'what did they say' during a movie.
