Core SWX 98 overview

  • 1Description

The Core SWX HyperCore 98 Gold Mount Battery is a 98Wh Lithium-Ion battery featuring high density cells designed to handle high power draws. Supporting more amperage per cell, the cells can withstand up to a 10A draw for extended periods without diminishing service life. Overall service life is rated at 1000 charge/discharge cycles. Run-time is projected at 3.5 hours at 25W. Safety sensors are built in that detect over/under voltage, over/under current, and above-normal temperature.

The HyperCore 98 is compatible with Anton/Bauer Lithium-Ion chargers. An Intellicom backlit LCD and a 4-LED gauge provide operating run-time in hours and minutes, remaining capacity as a bar grid and percentage, and remaining charge time. An on-board fuel computer samples capacity and charge or discharge load and re-computes and refreshes the LCD display every five seconds. A D-tap port and USB port are available on the side for powering accessories and charging various devices. The outer jacket is made of comfortable-to-hold, non-slip rubber. This battery pack will charge on all Core SWX chargers.

    Core SWX 98 reviews

HyperCore 98 Gold Mount Battery is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm Done with Anton Bower After years of using Dionics that died on me after 2-3 years (i have 8 dead ones) i find this Battery more powerful, accurate (the Display show exactly how much is left down to min) and the P-tap on the battery help a ton, i ran an Atoms shogun recording 4K for 11 hours. works with all my Anton bower chargers and been on two long international flights with no problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from i think i'm done with Dionics I have 5 working Anton bower Dionic's and 4 dead ones: they just died some slowly some suddenly but always after the warranty expired. this battery last longer, has a P tap built in and usb and has the most accurate LCD i ever seen in a battery down to the Min. and best it works with all my AB chargers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great battery. I just purchased a couple of these bad boys for my Ursa Mini Pro. Really impressed with the design, the LCD screen, placement of the LED's, nice weight helps counter balance with a shoulder rig set up... AND... it can be charged with a p-tap charger! Although, I'm sure it is not as fast as charging with the Core SWX Fleet D Gold Mount Charger... but I timed it right at 4 hours to charge. LCD reads 3:06min charge remaining time... I'll update later with actual time powering the camera and video assist monitor.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Drains quickly If you expect this battery to hold a charge for long, think again. It discharges rather quickly when not in use compared to my smaller Panasonic GH5 and Sony batteries used when everything is not on my camera rig. I have two HyperCore 98's and they both have a similar rate of discharge. I'm not sure if it's the nature of the chemical composition of these larger rig batteries or if Core isn't really one of the better brands.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Screen Died - Warranty is a pain I do like these, when they work, specifically how the remaining time updates as you adjust power draw. Great for LEDs when you can see that dimming them to 75% draws 1/2 the power as 100%, or you get X time in standby, and Y time rolling. Only issue is that of the pair I purchased, one's screen has died entirely. Backlight glow still works, but the lcd is stuck off, tried the reset procedure, no luck. No drops, only been charged 5-6 times, never drained below 30%, it hasn't had a rough life at all. Being in Canada, I have to mail it back to the USA for a return/RMA, which isn't worth the $ at all, and they won't guarantee it's a faulty battery. So I'm stuck using it with the 4-led meter, and it performing like the no-screen batteries at 1/2 the cost. I won't bother buying these again, as 50% failure rate for me is really bad. Many other cheaper brands that have a much better warranty process for Canadians, lots not even requiring the battery to be mailed back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value Not only are these batteries safe to travel by plane but they have plenty of power to run my camera, fully loaded with accessories for well over an hour nonstop. The digital readout shows very precisely how much more running time the battery has left.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for travel I bought a few of these batteries to go with me on travel gigs since the airlines i was flying with didnt allow batteries over 100wh to fly. They worked great and i plan to purchase a few more for future travel gigs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far I love this battery I don't know if it will last this long months down the road but as of now this battery holds a charge a insanely long time...I shot 2 soccer games, post and standup and still had plenty of juice left
