    Sigma CR-31 reviews

CR-31 Cable Release is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a cable release! It's a cable release. It works just fine!! A bit expensive, but what can you do. It would be nice if all of the companies, by some miracle could get together so items like this were compatible--- I have three cameras I use with cable releases---ALL DIFFERENT PLUGS!!!!! And then there are batteries. Six cameras, six different batteries, six different chargers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective vibration reducer The 51 MP Foveon chip Sigma SD Quattro H is a magnificent camera in terms of resolution but it also magnifies any errors in camera techniques. This remote cable release removes vibrations caused by a finger pressing on the shutter. Of course shooting at ISO 100 RAW, a sturdy tripod that is weighted down plus in some locations (urban or industrial) vibration reduction pads under the legs, wind blockers outside or use a studio location, adding the portrait grip with 2 batteries for extra mass, adding a plastic wrapped sandbag on the camera and lenses themselves and finally using the remote shutter release or the 10 second self timer, will give images with exquisite color separations and resolution, worthy of 40x60 prints. This might seem OCD but these are the techniques for large format and medium format film cameras from the dinosaur days, However if you are a run and gun photographer (like I am at times too) or just need low resolution images for web viewing and memories, then this camera and methodologies are NOT for your style.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just a Switch For the price asked, this thing should have in intervalometer/auto timer circuit instead of just a shutter switch. Oops, well, ok, you can lock it down in Bulb, but so what?? Third party vendors provide silicon timers at a lower price, so no excuse to keep things so minimal as this. Necessary for critical sharpness of Foveon Sensors on tripods, so good there, but there could have been more features available, even if the pricer were $10 more.
