Kessler Crane Pocket Jib Overview

The Pocket Jib Traveler from Kessler Crane is designed for shooters that require an ultra-portable jib solution. It features a reach of 72" from the fulcrum when fully extended. The Pocket Jib Traveler is completely self-contained, and it collapses to 27" in length for transport and storage without requiring disassembly. The Pocket Jib Traveler is equipped with an adjustable sliding weight bar that provides fine-balance adjustment without significantly increasing the size of the jib. Engineered to be strong and lightweight, the jib features weight reducing window cuts that also improve its structural integrity. Incorporating both 3/8"-16 and ¼"-20 threaded mounting holes allow you to mount the jib to a variety of supports including an optional 100mm Ball kit with a 3/8"-16 stud or a standard tripod quick release plate. Integrated 1/4"-20 accessory mounting holes allow you to attach optional monitors and other accessories without affecting the operation of the jib.

There is no 'auto' feature with this jib. With some practice, though, you can get very smooth motion shots with this jib.

question

Hi the load capicity indicated is 10lb/4.5 kg. Does it include the counter balance weights or is it just calculated for the camera (or crane and camera)?
Asked by: Mathias
The load capacity refers to the weight of the camera and accessories.

question

Can I attach this to a dana dolly?
Asked by: Matt P.
The Dana Dolly is too small for this crane. I would think the moment you had the slightest imbalance, everything would go over and onto the ground in an instant.

question

does this crane need a specific kind of tripod?
Asked by: Anonymous
I mount this jib on the Benro FTF29AIN1 Travel Flat Series 2 Aluminum Tripod, which I got on a great deal from B&H, but is unfortunately discontinued. The whole setup is incredibly compact, convenient for travel, and perfectly stable. Any tripod with similar specs should be fine.

question

Will this jib allow the mounting unit on the end of the jib to manually tilt down and up? Much like the Kessler Lite 8?
Asked by: James P.
I believe you are asking if you can manually adjust the cameras tilt before the shot. If so, yes.

question

Would this jib handle a GH4 with a light weight 3-axis gimbal if everything is under the 10lb limit?
Asked by: Jonathan
Yes, you can fly the GH4 in a gimbal. The crane will not know the difference between it and a normal set up.
