Wi-Ex TRIO SOHO Xtreme overview

  • 1Description

Boost your AT&T phone's 4G LTE signal and reduce dropped and missed calls with the zBoost TRIO SOHO Xtreme Signal Booster from Wi-Ex. This booster uses an outdoor antenna to capture the reliable cellular signal you have outdoors and rebroadcasts it indoors so you can enjoy clearer, faster and more reliable service without interruption. It can provide enhanced reception to areas up to 5,500 ft2 and can be used by multiple devices at once. This device has been approved by AT&T and other major carriers. If you do not use AT&T, please check with your carrier to find out whether this device is approved on your network.

The TRIO SOHO Xtreme also improves voice and text reception for users of most major carriers, not only AT&T. It reduces power use by your phone's CEL, PCS, and LTE antennas, extending the phone's battery life. The zBoost TRIO SOHO Xtreme includes all hardware necessary to mount the antenna, as well as 45' of RG6 cable and a window-entry cable to connect the antenna to the base station. The base station can be wall-mounted, and the adjustable antenna allows it to be placed in a variety of locations.

Note: Before use, you must register this device with your wireless provider and have your provider's consent. Most wireless providers consent to the use of signal boosters. AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon and 90 additional carriers have already given consent for all consumers to use this device. Some providers may not consent to the use of this device on their network. If you are unsure, contact your provider.

    Wi-Ex TRIO SOHO Xtreme reviews

zBoost TRIO SOHO Xtreme 4G Cell Phone Signal Booster (AT&T) is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Booster Improved cell signal inside of metal roof home from 1 bar to 4 bars covering an area of about 1000 square feet. Easy installation.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Signal booster works, doubt about product support I got this in June and tried to make it work for weeks without success. I tried to contact zBoost support, no replies. Finally, I found out that the antenna they included was defective (by trial an error) and I had to purchase another antenna to prove my theory. If you buy, hopefully you'll have a working product, because if not, zBoost support won't help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as advertised. Very straight forward installation. No bar's to full bar's in a hour.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from When it works, it works The AT&T signal at my home in the forest is typically one of five bars, and occasionally two bars. However from just the right spot on my roof I almost always get two bars. I installed the directional antenna in the attic, just below that best spot and the base unit about 16 feet horizontally and 16 feet vertically away from that antenna. All worked well for two days then the base unit LED turned brown (feedback indication). Moving it another 35 feet away did not solve the problem. Technical support decided the base unit (booster) had failed and cross shipped a replacement. It wasn't much better so then Wilson shipped a replacement base unit antenna. All was now well -- my entire 2400 square-foot house had at least two bars and within thirty feet or so a had four of five bars. That was two months ago. This week, upon returning from a short trip, I plugged the zBoost back in (no reason for it to work while I was traveling), but it failed to boot. I tested the power supply and found it functioning properly. This time technical support demanded that I return the failed base unit then they would ship yet another replacement upon receipt. We'll see how that one works in another week. Bottom line: Wilson seems to have a quality control problem with their manufacturer in Mexico. The unit is warm, but not hot, when functioning and I'm wondering if inferior parts are failing in this environment or if there is a design issue. The unit is great, while it works, but I'm really disenchanted with its reliability.
