    ProAm USA BOOM2-S reviews

Telescopic 8' Boom Pole and Universal Shock Mount is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Low Budget Boom Pole I use this boom pole to teach the basics of location sound recording to my high school film and television students. For that purpose, it works perfectly. This is a no frills boom pole that does the job. It does not have an internal cable so you will have to secure an XLR cable down the length of the pole. The mic holder will take just about any mic you care to put into it. It is more suited to indoor shooting or in low wind situations with the included mic holder because it will not allow you to use a blimp and furry cover. The included mic holder does come off and you could attach any other that screws onto a 5/8 male or into 3/8 female. Again, for teaching students or for low budget production, this boom pole is a great value and does most of what other poles for twice the money will do.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap Boompole Poor quality boom pole. After 4 days on set it is already broken. The shock mount is fine, no issues there.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great boom pole for the price BUT shock mount sucks I've been using it pretty consistently since I got it about 2 1/2 months ago. The boom pole itself is definitely cheaper quality then other things that are available, but it's been standing up to the work I've given it. Including TSA treatment on a flight from the East coast to the West and back after a week. That should say something haha. So yeah, it feels cheap but it has been working just fine for me. HOWEVER, the universal shock mount broke within like 3 days. While I was tightening the screw to configure the microphone position, it just snapped off... The threads sheared themselves off of the screw and then it literally broke by snapping. Little flakes of metal fell out on top of the stub of metal that they were once attached too. This maybe isn't necessarily a deal breaker, since I actually had another shock mount anyways. Also technically I could swing by the hardware store to replace the screw with an appropriately threaded one. But I just haven't yet cause -- why should I have needed to in the first place? Ahhhgggg.... Anyways, yeah that's the biggest negative about this deal. The boom pole is decent but if you're in it hoping for a good shock mount then maybe look somewhere else.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not Bad... I bought the boom to use with my NTG2 and I have to admit that for the price I am pleasantly surprised. It's not professional grade but it does the job well enough. The elastics on the shock mount are a bit flimsy so not certain how well they will do in the long term. I wish they would include replacements elastics for all of the shock mount in the eventuality one of them would break. But so far, so good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gets job done Used this boompole on a paid gig recently. Gets the job done well for the price. Shock mount is good. Wrap a few cable fasteneres around the mic cable and youre set.
