The PoE+ Over Coax Blade Kit from Axis Communications includes one T8646 PoE+ over coax blade and six T8642 Ethernet over coax device adapters. The 6-channel T8646 POE+ Over Coax Blade enables use of coaxial cables for PoE applications. It supports IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at. T8646 can be used with Axis video encoder chassis together with Axis T8082 or Axis T8085 power supplies.

The six included Axis T8642 Ethernet over coax device units should be used on the camera side. Both the device unit and the network camera can receive power over the coax cable using the rack-mountable Axis T8082 or Axis T8085 power supply (available separately), making the installation and maintenance effective.

  • T8646 POE+ Over Coax Blade (6-Channel)

    The 6-channel T8646 POE+ Over Coax Blade from Axis Communications enables use of coaxial cables for PoE applications. It supports IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at. The T8646 can be used with an Axis video encoder chassis together with an Axis T8082 or Axis T8085 power supply. This blade requires one Axis T8642 POE+ over coax device for every channel at the camera end.

  • T8642 Ethernet over Coax Device PoE+ Adapter

    The Axis Communications T8642 Ethernet over Coax Device PoE+ Adapter enables camera installers to keep the legacy coax cabling when converting an analog system into digital. It delivers standard Power over Ethernet (PoE) and centrally-sourced power with no new cables required.

    Axis T8642 is an ideal choice for installation of network cameras where coax cables are already present and may be very long or inaccessible. For ease of installation and guaranteed performance, it features an intuitive LED display, which gives confirmation of network and power status via the cable, with no need to access remote equipment to check connections.

    This adapter can be used in those installations that require PoE transmission over 328’ (100 m). A full-rate network connection is delivered over maximum cable ranges that far exceed most recommended distances for analog video installation, so conversion of all legacy coaxial cable types is predictable and reliable.

    The device unit receives power from the coax and delivers up to full PoE+ power to the network camera. An optional power supply can be used if PoE is not available or if higher power for the network camera is needed.
