A versatile and adjustable means for attaching a rosette-mounted EVF to your camera, the Zacuto Axis Mini is an ENG-style mount that is designed to attach to the top of your camera setup and provide you with ample room for adjusting focus or working with large lenses. It attaches directly to rigs fitted with a 15mm rod port and then connects with EVFs, such as the Gratical HD, using a secure 1/4"-20 rosette mount, or can also be used with 1/4"-20 screw mount EVFs with the separate Quad Rail for mounting.

Once attached, the Axis Mini's adjustable design utilizes four main pivoting points, which can spin a full 360° and are controlled using independent tension levers. With all levers unlocked, you can freely position the EVF at will using a single hand, or specific sections can be tightened down for fine-tuned adjustments on a single axis. Additionally, the articulation can be configured to work seamlessly with both shoulder-mounted rigs as well as for tripod-based shooting.

Axis Mini EVF Mount is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made, but with major flaw This EVF mount is actually quite well engineered. It's not as simple as it appears, as the two pivoting mechanisms are actually dampened rotation mechanisms. I really like that it lets you friction-lock the positions but is still loose enough to adjust by hand without unscrewing things. It's also price competitive with other high-isn end EVFs like WoodenCamera. The one major flaw is that the rosette mount uses a 1/4 20 screw paired with an Arri standard rosette. This is problematic because Arri rosettes are supposed to have M6 screws in the middle, so you can't actually mount this EVF on other standard Arri rosettes. Not a big deal if you use this with Zacuto Gratical or use the Zacuto Quadrail.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It works This is a good mount for the Gratical viewfinder. It's wildly overpriced, as is a lot of Zacuto stuff -- but it does do what it should. That said - a bit of grease is oozing from two rotating points. Hopefully that will stop - but really - grease and cameras -- BAD. It would be nice if parts could easily be rotated 180 so that the lock knob side of the adjustment points could be rotated - sometimes they are in the way. Did I mention it is really expensive? There are definitely cheaper solutions and I have no doubt some would work just as well or better for some applications. But in some cases, biting the bullet and paying for this may make sense. Gotta pay to play, i suppose.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay product The independent tension adjustments don't work that well on my unit, might just be mine. The top tension will not support the weight of my monitor if I move the arm to 90 degrees unless I really tighten down the knob. So there is really no in-between, it's just lock or unlock. The the bottom rotation (one that attaches to the monitor seems better, has more of the adjustment capability Zacuto advertises. The reach, about 6 just makes it for my rig, would have been nice to have an extra 1 in length. Over all I am happy with it, build quality is good and I expect it will last for many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, great build quality To help strengthen and improve the range of the EVF to the Sony FS7, the Axis Mini does a great job. You will still need to buy a rosette to 15mm clamp in order to connect the Axis Mini to the Sony FS7 EVF with a 15 mm rod. Zacuto is making an attachment but they have not released it as of 01/11/15. Great build quality. Always solid and reliable as with any Zacuto product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Axis Mini Great arm. Love that it's friction, so you can move it without touching the knobs. Much faster that way. It extends quite a bit and retracts if you don't need it. Recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for the Gratical Not much to say about this other than it gets the job done. It's a very sturdy, high quality piece of hardware. You can easily make adjustments to it for your Gratical HD or other viewfinder. Once you play with it a little you will start to find the knobs more easily to make adjustments on the fly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have item... For the Gratical HD. It's pricey, yes, but adjustable in every way. And just before joints lock tight, you get a smooth resistance that will bear weight, but allows small adjustments for comfort. Well made, looks great, super gear, performs as promised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Mounting Solution I've combined this Axis mini with both a z-rail and rod lock to enable me to use my gratical-x evf. This has proven to be an awesome mounting solution for a run and gun rig!
