Corsair H55 overview

  • 1Description

The Hydro Series H55 Liquid CPU Cooler from Corsair is an all-in-one CPU cooling system that is completely self-contained and does not need filling or maintenance. This cooling system features a 120mm radiator with a fan that cools the liquid coolant coming from the CPU pump head. The 120mm fan spins at 1700 rpm and has a noise level of 30.32 dBA.

The pump head can be installed on to Intel and AMD processors without the need for tools using the included mounting kit. It is designed with a microfin copper cold plate for providing fast and efficient heat transfers from the processor to the circulating liquid. Furthermore, this pump features a low profile design that simplifies installation and helps improve the airflow inside your computer case.

Tool-free Mounting Bracket Kit
The Hydro Series H55 works with Intel and AMD based motherboards. The included mounting bracket kit simplifies installation with a tool-free design.
Low-noise, Low-speed 120mm Fan
The low speed and wide diameter reduces noise levels over the smaller, faster fans used on stock CPU coolers. The three-pin connector is compatible with fan controllers on your motherboard.
Low Permeability Rubber Tubing
The tubing is made from rubber that is flexible and is resilient against leaks. This material provides minimal coolant evaporation, which helps ensure long life for the H55 cooler.
Low-profile Pump
The pump unit provides high-speed circulation without taking a lot of space. This makes installation easier, and helps improve your case's airflow.
Copper Microfin Cold Plate with Pre-applied Thermal Compound
The cold-plate draws heat from your CPU into the circulating liquid. It features a microfin design to provide fast and efficient heat transfer and is made from copper that offers thermal conductivity. To help transfer heat and simplify installation, Corsair has already applied the thermal compound onto the cold plate.
Low-profile Black Aluminum Heat Exchanger
The low-profile design of the radiator reduces the airflow requirement, which helps make H55 quieter. The small size also allows for easier installation and improved compatibility.

    Corsair H55 reviews

Hydro Series H55 Liquid CPU Cooler is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional Compact cooling I used this product with my Haswell i5 4670k. Like any good 'K' processor owner, I have this process overclocked to a modest 4.2Ghz. With the stock cooling, load would have the CPU reach temperatures that caused the computer to shutdown (100C+). Post installation of the H55, I am seeing peaks of about 65C gaming and 77C for prime 95 (this scenario is artificially taxing). I have a Corsair Carbide 240 case. Strangely enough this cooler is more compact than most air coolers. The air coolers are quite tall and would not fit the width of the case. The radiator + hose design allows one to utilize an existing 120mm fan mounting point. The bottom line is if you have a smaller case, this cooler will do wonders compared to stock, even under modest overclocks. If you need extreme overclocking you would do better with Corsairs bigger closed loop systems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No problems to date This product comes with pre-applied thermal grease. Directions could be improved for the beginner, 2nd time will be much easier. Mounted this product on an X99A mother board, no issues. Very quiet, with no LED on pump power, not sure its running. Fan had to be mounted on top of case to pull air, also very quiet. Checked the BIOS to see if power was applied and CPU temperature, so far, its good. The entry points to the pump will swivel to aid in mounting and routing the hoses. Mounting of the pump on the mother board was tricky to keep it centered, it wanted to shift while starting the first 2 screws. Will remove and reapply new thermal grease within the next month. So far no problems.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent Cooler Using this cooler on the Intel i7 4790K 88 watt CPU. Working decent. With the room at 27 C, idles around 20 C. While gaming it is running up to 55 C. My AMD PC has the FX-8350 125 watt CPU and the Zalman LQ-320 Universal Liquid CPU Cooling System with push/pull Corsair CO-9050008-WW SP120 High Pressure 120mm Case Fans. With the room at 27C, my AMD idles around 15C and when I render video it will run up to 50C. If you can't get a dual fan radiator liquid cooler, then I recommend the Zalman LQ-320.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addiction First time using a liquid cooler fan. I was actually really impressed on how easy it was to install and how well it works. No issues here even though I've only had it for a month or so but can't complain for the price I got it for and withoug taxes and free shipping made it thst much sweeter.
