EverFocus PALUN overview

Extend a PoE switch's wireless transmission range by converting its signal with EverFocus' IP PoE Powered Video Palun, a 2-unit PoE signal converter and extender system that requires no external power source. These paluns are designed to simplify IP camera integration into an existing analog surveillance system by reducing the amount of cabling required. This cable-reducing system consists of a black palun, intended for use with an IP camera, and a blue palun, intended for use with a PoE Switch.

Accordingly, both paluns have two connector ports: the first of which is a RJ45 Ethernet output and the second, a BNC output. The BNC outputs connect the two paluns through a coaxial cable that acts as the data and power bridge between the IP camera and the PoE Switch. The IP camera and PoE switch are connected to their corresponding paluns via a CAT5 Ethernet cable that is not included.

Lastly, and cleverly, this system extends a network's power and data transmission range up to a distance of 1148' while saving you the cost of running additional wires.

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't work The coax side would not allow standard coax to connect. The palun side was too large. Additionally, it had raised metal clips that appear to be for a slide on connector of some sort. They did not provide any different coax connectors, advise they may be needed, or provide direction on where to get them. Furthermore, I tried to connect the palun directly with the coax wire directly inserted just to verify the palun system would power up the Ethernet which it did not. I tried adjusting the power switch to no avail. Basically wasted over a $100. I ended up pulling down my crown molding and fishing a new wire anyway.
