This lens is optimized for an APS-C sensor, therefore it does not allow for a full image circle.

Is this lens equisolid?

Is this lens equisolid?
Asked by: Philipp
If by that you are asking if it is a rectilinear fisheye or a circular fisheye. I have a 14mm Sigma and a wide zoom for crop sensors which are rectilinear. Even so, there will be noticeable barrel distortion increasing further from the center of the image. This LensBaby lens is a circular fisheye. It is supposedly optimized for crop sensor cameras. It works great on my 7D mkii, with only one caveat: the upper and lower portions of the circular image are a tad cropped. Not much. but obviously cropped nonetheless. If I had to guess, it was designed for crop factor 1.5 (Nikon and Sony) but not quite for the 1.6 of Canon. Using my full-frame 6D, the image is quite uniformly circular and fits almost too well into the larger image frame. I have not yet had time to work much with images from this lens on either camera, but so far, it seems worth the price for a fun, novelty lens, giving images that are at least quite adequate for most needs.

Does this lens have an Ai coupling ridge. In addition, is the aperture scale visible in the viewfinder of a Manual Focus film camera like the Nikon FM2n? It looks like it does but the illustration is not clear.
Asked by: Robert
No, aperture is not visible in view finder.Ai coupling? It fits my nikon fine with nikon mount. There is no connection to body threw sensors.. it locks on and you do everything by hand. You can see shutter speed and iso on back screen or inside view finder

Will this lens capture full circle images while using Speedbooster Ultra 0.71x on a Blackmagic Pocket 4k?
Asked by: Rajesh
No, the sensor size on the Black Magic Pocket 4k even by itself (without the Speedbooster) will not yield a circular image. You will see cropping on the top and bottom on any sensor size besides a full frame sensor.

Will this lens produce a full circular image on the MFT sensor?

The Sigma 4.5mm f/2.8 EX DC HSM Circular Fisheye Lens for Canon EF or other mount with an adapter would be your best option, but it costs $900 without even adding in the adapter.
