Linksys LRT214 overview

  • 1Description

Easily create an OpenVPN Server with the LRT214 Gigabit VPN Router from Linksys. This VPN router comes equipped with one Gigabit WAN port, one Gigabit DMZ port, and four Gigabit LAN ports. The integrated DMZ port provides an additional layer of security when setting up and configuring the VPN. With the OpenVPN running on authorized computers, smartphones, and tablets, employees have the ability to remotely access the company Intranet using two-factor authentication.

With a 900 Mbps integrated firewall administrators have the ability to closely monitor local network traffic, the business network, and all VLANs simultaneously. In addition to the firewall, administrators can also utilize IPsec functionality which authenticates and encrypts each IP packet of a communication session. With VLAN tagging network resources can be easily organized and parameters can be configured to determine how network traffic is managed. Creating and managing VLANs is simple with intuitive web based controls to virtually eliminate the need for an IT staff.

OpenVPN Server Support
Linksys Gigabit VPN Routers allow OpenVPN clients running on employees' laptops, smartphones, and tablets to connect to the office using two-factor authentication.
Integrated Firewall
The LRT series supports URL filtering and access rules that allow administrators to further regulate the traffic within the business network based on the services (i.e., TCP/UDP ports) and source/destination IP addresses.
802.1q VLAN Tagging
This Linksys VPN router keeps resources in different SSIDs/VLANs separated, while allowing specified traffic to traverse between VLANs with inter-VLAN routing.
IPv6 Transition
This Linksys VPN router supports transition technologies such as dual-stack IPv4 and IPv6 to ensure compatibility as service providers upgrade their systems.
Intuitive Web Administrative Interface
Easy to set up and easy to use, the intuitive admin interface allows small business owners to deploy and manage the routers without professional IT staff onsite.

    Linksys LRT214 reviews

LRT214 Gigabit VPN Router is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Easy to setup (IPsec and VLan) and works! After 3 weeks of frustration challenging with Cisco ASDM trying to setup an IPsec connection (to 3rd party company giving service to us) without any success (small network but little special setup due to failover and security). I bought a linksys LRT214 and unbelievably the whole setup was done in minutes! Since then, expanding connections and other changes has been done in a breeze. GUI is intuitive and straight forward. I have small network. But has everything on it including multiple web servers, db server, remote access,... LRT214 does the job perfectly. Currently have 2 of them on our network.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A solid performer when VPN is required. The LRT2x4 series is my current VPN router of choice. I have purchased and installed several of them over the last few years in order to connect multiple office locations via VPN. I previously used the Linksys RV042 & RV082 routers for the same purpose, but they are no longer supported and cannot handle modern 150mb/sec WAN speeds. The LRT2x4's are as reliable, capable and easy to configure (if not more) than their predecessors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Linksy LRT214 VPN Router Small Business Great price from B&H Photo. Router construction is metal and not plastic. Performance is very good and supports my small office location fine. it handles my ISP broadband connection speed (200Mb down & 20Mb up) without issues. Router setup is simple. The PPTP VPN is easy to enable and worked first time. Investigating other VPN features the router offers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Zero Problems Have two LRT214's on my corporate network for over two years now and have had ZERO problems, ZERO downtime related to them. Easy to configure, flexible and the OpenVPN works great. We are using all 5 OpenVPN tunnels on each one. Never had a problem. Highly recommended for small to medium high traffic networks.
