    Linksys AC1200 reviews

LAPAC1200 AC1200 Dual Band Wireless Access Point is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Choice In purchased two of these LAPAC1200 access points to replace the latest Ubiquiti UAP-AC-LITE. They don't have as good a range/power output as the UBNT AP's, but from a home, power-user perspective these are much better suited. No controller software to deal with, and the 1.08 firmware they shipped with has been rock solid.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product worked as expected I chose this unit as a replacement of a similar Netgear product. This worked out of the box. No problem. 72hr burn-in - No Problem. Will linksys honor their warranty, not like Netgear? My experience with Linksys is that they are a honorable company, unlinke their competitor.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works as advertised, for a moment.. I've had this for a while, it works pretty well, until you start using it over some length of time, sometimes it lasts quite a bit, but usually I'll have to reboot it once a week.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I can not recommend this WAP Do not waste your time with this until you hear about some upgrades. 1. No software to find this on a network You plug it into your network and then there's no assistance to get the IP address. I had to use nmap. The quick start: Access device's browser-based setup: 1. Use the included cable to connect the access point to your network via a network switch or router. 2. Open a web browser on a computer connected to your network. Enter the IP address of your access point. By factory default, the IP address will be assigned by a DHCP server (usually the network router). If there is no DHCP server on your network, the default IP address is So, I can understand that maybe the mentality is that you should have access to your dhcp server in order to hunt this down. However, between my synology box, the previous Linksys access point, and other net-enabled equipment I've dealt with, I've never had to hunt for my device before. 2. I used the wizard. It mistakenly replaced some of the characters in my SSID password with URL equivalents. I had to go back into the admin UI to fix the password and I could see it in plain text that it was screwed up. 3. Again with the wizard, I put in static settings but on completeing the wizard, I had to redo the settings in the admin UI. Kept it with DHCP - Keep in mind they strongly recommend using the wizard. 4. After getting it set up properly, it then kept dropping about every 15-30 minutes. Humorously it dropped during a support session with linksys, who had all the necessary info to open a ticket before the line failed but didn't follow up OR start a ticket. 5. The admin UI was failing in at least 5 options I saw with 'connection was reset' errors. If I hit it through another network connection (wired or another WAP) it worked. If I hit it through the SSID it was responsible for, these errors happened in various places in the UI. I'm trying a Ubiquiti product next. Stay away from this one until you get rock solid feedback that this thing is stable. Maybe I just got a bad one but given that the firmware was up to date, this was a scary WAP.
