The Peavey TransTube Series Bandit 112 is a 100W combo amp with a 12" Blue Marvel speaker and TransTube circuitry that aims to recreate the tone of a tube amp. This versatile amp has many features like high and low gain inputs, footswitchable boost, clean and lead channels (footswitch is sold separately), and an effects loop.
High, Mid, and Low tone controls are featured on both the clean and lead channels, as well as an EQ switch on each channel to further control the tone. The amp also has pre and post gain controls (for the lead channel), reverb and boost controls, speaker simulated direct output, and damping level adjustment.
High Gain Input
Used for most electric guitars. The High Gain Input is 6 dB louder than the Low Gain Input.
Low Gain Input
Provided for instruments with extremely high outputs, which can result in overdriving (distorting) the High Gain Input. If both inputs are used simultaneously, their levels are both Low Gain.
The Classic position maintains a standard voicing. The Vintage position changes the overall function of the EQ and adds a hint of brightness to emulate classic amp designs. The Warm setting also reconfigures the EQ and is provided for darker sounds. Experiment with this switch, along with Clean EQ adjustments to capture your desired tone.
Classic/Modern/High Gain Switch
This switch changes both the gain and voicing of the Lead channel. The Modern setting increases the overall gain and notches (cuts) the mid frequencies, establishing a modern tone often associated with hard rock and metal styles. The Classic setting emulates overdriven tube sounds of the past. The High Gain setting increases the overall gain and changes the EQ, creating a tighter response at lower Pre Gain settings or an "over the top" sound at higher Pre Gain settings. Experiment with this switch setting while adjusting the Lead EQ to help you obtain your desired tone.
Speaker Simulated Direct Output
The signal produced in this convenient 1/4" direct output jack is specifically voiced to accurately simulate speaker cabinet response. The output can be used for direct recordings or sent to a mixer or PA system. Users can adjust output levels with the adjacent control knob.
This three-position switch offers damping level adjustment; loose, medium and tight.
This pair of mono 1/4" jacks provides an effects Send and Return path for the preamp signal. Connect the Send jack to the input of an external, low-level, signal processing effects unit. Return the signal from your external effects unit to the Return jack. This setup is known as an Effects Loop since the signal exits your amp (send) and loops (return) back to it.
