Tamron FLC58 overview

  • 1Description

Tamron's unique construction allows you to take off and put back on the lenscap with a lenshood in the shooting position, and they are tight enough that they rarely fall off by accident like so many other supposed bargains will certainly do.  Available in the typical sizes between 52mm and 82mm.  If you put the function of something like a lenscap above other concerns then just try one-you won't regret it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lens cap heaven. Tamron lens caps are it. I use them on all of my lens tamron or other. you can remove and replace them without having to remove your lens hood. Expertise: Enthusiast Previous Equivalent Item Owned: Canon Items I Recommend: all lens they fit

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why didn't Canon include this? Canon's top-of-the-line 18 x 50 Image Stabilized Binoculars come with rubber caps which fit over the eye cups, but do not include any caps for the front lens. If you are going to buy these binoculars, be sure to also order a pair of the Tamron 58mm lens caps as they are a perfect fit in both design and function. I think they are an absolute necessity to protect that high quality Canon glass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Secure Snap-on Cap I have a Canon G1X to which I have added a filter and therefore needed a bigger lens cap. This works easily and is very secure, has never fallen off, more than I can say for the original cap that came with the camera. It probably cost more because of the Tamron label across the front, would have preferred a plain unmarked cap but this works very well so I will live with the label.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best lens caps I have found I started using Tamron lens caps for my large format lenses. I was so impressed by how easy they were to put on and take off, while at the same time holding tightly enough to the lens that they never fell off, nor were they ever knocked off. Now I use them on my Fuji GX617 and GSW690III, as well as my Zeiss ZF lenses on my Canon. Great engineering in a utilitarian product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How the OEM caps should be made.... What can I say, it works better than the caps that come with Canon lenses. Much easier to grip the outside tabs, and of course provides inside tabs so that you can still remove/attach it with a hood on. They are a little stiff when brand new, so it is a little hard to squeeze the center tabs, but they break in over time. I'll be buying them for all my lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than Canon's I have replaced several of the lens caps on my Canon lenses with Tamron lens caps. The Tamron caps, with their center tabs, are much easier to access than the Canon caps, especially with a lens hood in place. The Tamron caps seem to be better built and hold firmly to the front element of the lens, even with other filters mounted on the lens.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replaces my Canon cap I found the original Canon cap to be difficult to get off and hard to get fully clicked on. In addition, it was nearly impossible to use when I used a lens hood. This Tamron cap is much easier. I still have to make sure it fully clicks on, but I can put it on/off easily even with the hood on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Winner Inasmuch as all caps are low cost, it makes sense to go with the most useful, and most solidly built. These Tamron caps feature the blessed Snap-On cap that usually on comes with an OEM purchase. For the low price I have to live with the Tamron logo. I wish I had a Carl Zeiss logo. . .
