Tamron's unique construction allows you to take off and put back on the lenscap with a lenshood in the shooting position, and they are tight enough that they rarely fall off by accident like so many other supposed bargains will certainly do.  Available in the typical sizes between 52mm and 82mm.  If you put the function of something like a lenscap above other concerns then just try one-you won't regret it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top product I ordered a Canon, a Tamron, and a Bower lens cap to compare. I love the pinch-type on the Tamron and the Bower. They both can be removed without removing the lens hood. The Tamron might have a slight edge on the Bower as far as a tight secure fit is concerned, but the difference is very slight. The Tamron and Bower both get my recommendation. If a cheaper price and a cover with no logo are important to you, get the Bower. The Canon is also well-made but is much more expensive. Whether the Canon name on the lens cap is more important than the lack of a pinch-style or the added price is up to you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smarter, easier design Every Canon lens I've ever used has been prone to falling or pulling off when placed in almost any container or bag. It's a nasty shock to realise your L lens has been unprotected in a bag full of sharp edges when you thought it was fairly safe. The single Tamron lens I has this lens cap and it's just lovely. Three advantages: 1. The pinch grip lets you place/remove the lens cap while inside a deep hood (I've had to walk around dustbowl festivals all day with a 70-200mm L f/2.8 IS unprotected because I couldn't use the lens cap and hood at the same time) 2. Its grip on the lens thread is stronger and far less prone to falling off at the slightest pressure. 3. Pinch grip is eaiser to operate and hold on to. I'm really glad to read from other reviewers that this works fine on Canon lenses and will be ordering a few spares to use on my L glass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just because it doesn't say canon... As previously written in other reviews, this fits better than the canon cap. I have this on my canon 70-200 2.8L and 24-105L with a filter. The canon filter was doing ok. It didn't fit as tight on the filter. This cap fits perfect, nice and tight. I also love the center release mechanism. I can easily take it on and off with the lens hood on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these lens caps! They easily fit onto my Canon 100-400 with the lens hood on. The supplied Canon lens cap is really difficult to get on and off of this lens with the hood on, but the Tamron lens cap works perfectly. I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great alternative to original lens cap Most lens manufacturer provided lens caps have their two removal tabs on the outside perimeter of the lens caps. Ever struggle to remove one of these lens caps from a lens equipped with its hood? Well, these lens caps solve that problem by locating the removal tabs in the center of the cap. Makes it real quick and easy to remove the lens cap. Great product. Also, Tamron lenses are not too shabby either. I have two Tamron lenses and they are great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! I purchase Tamron (and sometimes Nikon) lens caps to replace the dreadful stock caps on my Canon lenses, which are too thin and slippery to grip properly (expecially inside a hood). They are great to replace caps on older lenses too (I have a collection of Minolta MC/MD lenses and use step-up rings to go from 49-52mm and 55-58mm). I would much rather lose one of these over a cliff than a Zeiss lens cap!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solved a problem with Canon lens cap. I had a constant problem removing and inserting my lens cap on the Canon EF-s 17-55 f2.8 Lens after I started using the optional lens hood. I just couldn't reach the tabs inside the hood well. This cap with its center release design solved the problem. No more hassle. Well worth updating . This is the design Cannon should have provided on all lenses with a confining lens hood.
