Tamron's unique construction allows you to take off and put back on the lenscap with a lenshood in the shooting position, and they are tight enough that they rarely fall off by accident like so many other supposed bargains will certainly do.  Available in the typical sizes between 52mm and 82mm.  If you put the function of something like a lenscap above other concerns then just try one-you won't regret it!

82mm Snap-On Lens Cap is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 41.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pinch Cap is the Way to Go I have these caps for all of my Canon lenses. I'm not aware of any other pinch brand that's better, but these are miles better than the default Canon caps that come with their lenses. My only complaint is that the chunky sides can push against your lens bag and the cap can occasionally fall off in your bag. If they slimmed down the outside or found a way to make them stay on the lens a bit more consistently in a camera bag, it would be 5 stars. I bought this one in particular because I have filters in an 82mm thread and I bought a step up ring from 77 -> 82 for my 17-40 and I needed a cap. You'll need one of these pinch types if you want to get your cap on and off with a lens hood attached.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have If you shoot with a lens hood on, this is a must have. It works so much better than the Canon or Sigma caps do. Tamron and Nikon have the best lens cap designs available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from no muss, no fuss standard but solid lens cap. too bad the pricing on these things is so ridiculous

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value Only a few brands of snap-on caps actually work well. I like Nikon caps because they do what they should. Recently, I received a Sigma Lens with an 82mm filter size, and the unreliable Sigma lens cap (always falling off in my bag). Nikon doesn't make an 82mm snap-on cap, so I gave the Tamron a try. Tamron caps work so well. I'll use Tamron from now on for any replacement caps because they work and they are about two Starbucks less expensive than a Nikon cap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from outstanding lens cap this tamron snap-on is one of the most solid lens caps i've tried. it fits very snug against the rim of the lens or filter and clings tightly - without wobble or slippage - to a variable neutral density filter i use, which provides only shallow clearance for a lens cab to grab. i also like that it can be removed with ease by pinching the center OR the outer edge. i'm a little surprised by how exciting this lens cap is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better Design This cap replaced the cap for a Sigma lens. I found that Sigma lens caps tend to fall off lenses carried in my camera bag. The spring in this cap is among the best and causes the cap to fit snugly, yet is easily removed. I had thought that Nikon caps were the best, but Nikon doesn't make an 82mm cap. Now that I've tried the Tamron cap, I believe that Tameron has designed an even better lens cap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't buy an off name replacement I lost the original Tamron lens cap while I was on a trip. I was tempted to buy a knock-off brand to replace it but after much digging around on reviews online, it was clear, the Tamron cap is top quality and worth the extra couple of dollars to replace it with the right cap. Even a few people with Nikon and Canon lenses had purchased this cap as a replacement. It fits snug and does the job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from for my Zeiss Original lens cap for Zeiss 21mm is incredibly flimsy for an $ lens. One drop and it was done. This is much sturdier, is easier to grip with deeper finger holds, and fits well in the relatively shallow filter threads on the Zeiss. The bright silver TAMRON up front could be a deal breaker for one who bought the Zeiss for the prestige however! Also note a replacement genuine Zeiss cap is $
