    Philips 288P6LJEB reviews

    288P6LJEB 28" 16:9 4K Ultra HD LCD Monitor is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Frustrating and buggy Two big bugs: 1) The "SmartImage" menu keeps popping up unprompted. It's right in the middle of the screen, and blocks view of whatever movie or game is being shown. It seems like the capacitive buttons are buggy. That would explain the SmartImage menu's insistent presence. Also, sometimes the monitor buttons stop responding at all: can't bring up the menu, can't bring up or cancel the SmartImage menu; sometimes it won't even turn off. Sometimes I can stop the SmartImage menu from appearing for a time by restarting the monitor, but it doesn't always work. 2) After maximizing a YouTube video, when coming back to the browser window after the video, the screen flickers around like an old video with the tracking poorly set. Sometimes restarting the monitor fixes this, sometimes not. I've updated my graphics card drivers, but that didn't help. I've just now tried to update the monitor drivers, and I will see if that helps.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Everything was great accept Touch Buttons I thought the picture quality was great. The overall design felt sleek and pleasing to look at. The amount of ports on the back was more than I even needed. I felt the adjustable stand was a fantastic touch. However, a couple weeks in to my use of the monitor, the touch buttons began spazzing out, making false touch registries. It made the menu flicker on and off as I watched videos and, even worse, paint on PS. SOME TACTILE BUTTONS WOULD BE PREFERRED PLEASE! (it just feels wrong pressing a flat surface and wondering if the button was responsive...)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The buttons are crazy! The monitor has some touch buttons which will be triggered automatically and a huge black dialog will be displayed in the center of the monitor on and off. There is no way to prevent it. And the buttons stop working when the dialog popped up. The only way I find to reset it is unplug the monitor from the outlets for a few seconds. It is super hard to use it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed after only 19 months The monitor developed a 1/2 wide fault 6 to the right of the 24 width after about 18 months, over the next month and a half the fault has expanded so that I now have a 1/2 wide band which is rapidly turning white across the screen. The band exists regardless of input source and resolution (I have two computers connected to the monitor). Just to make it worse as I was writing this review (seriously) I moved by Surface Pro to the right to take a screen shot and there was a suspicious electrical pop from the monitor and the SP4 stopped communicating with the monitor; the other computer still has the band but it is now more white that before. I think this thing is dangerous.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of junk I purchased Philips Brilliance 4K Ultra HD LCD monitor and it is just a piece of junk... don't waste your money. The smartimage screen keeps popping up in the middle of the screen. I wish i read the reviews before I bought it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage The capacitive buttons are completely inept. SmartImage menu flashed intermittently, sometimes for a minute or more. Finally the monitor turned off and refused to turn back on. Don't waste your money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Touch buttons do not work after some time Touch/control buttons of the monitor do not work after some time. And I payed 600 for it... Sad that Philips do not put any fix reccomendation, which means that after using it 1 year, I have to go for a new one...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Monitor for the price I needed a 4k monitor to add to my 2009 MacPro setup and this monitor was the most affordable. The only thing that is not so great is that you have to look straight at the monitor to see the best picture. If you look at the monitor from the side, the picture looks blurred / ghost like. However, for the price, its okay. The design looks good. The best feature is the height adjustment. Power button is soft touch. The size is average, not too good and not too small.
