    Smith Optics AEGC01BK-2B reviews

Aegis Arc Compact Protective Eyewear - Field Kit (Black) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 154.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Excellent Optics...Caveat These optics came as a bonus when I purchased a Vortex Optics Sparc II Red Dot Scope from B&H. The quality and features of Smith Optics are excellent and leave little to be desired. The optics came with a black frame, clear and gray lens. No case was included. As much as I like these, they didn't fit me. Much like the Oakley SI Ballistic M Frame 3.0 (which I bought and returned), they are made to fit a hat size of 7 1/4 or less and a face that is narrow and long, so on my face there's a large gap at the brow. They are still functional for shooting while wearing a baseball cap. So if you have the correct head size and shape, they optics would be a great option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great glasses - being sold short because they're free Smith Optics Aegis Arc glasses - provide ballistic impact protection that meets US MIL-PRF-31013 standard clause 3.5.1.1. 100% UVA/UVB protection. Retail Priced at $80.00. You'll find them on the US Army Authorized Protective Eyewear (APEL) list. A little research into the 'freebie' will show they're not just a run of the mill pair of free protective shades like those you can grab at a Wal-Mart sporting counter. You might try seeing if you can select the size though - the MFR makes em in both small and large frame. Mine were large, fine for me, but I see other reviewers that say they're too big to be used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice eyewear I received this for free as part of a bonus promotion for buying a red dot scope from B&H. I already had some eyewear, so I wasn't necessarily in the market for any, but these are very nice. I have another pair of Smith glasses that I use when I go cycling, and I like and am happy with their products in general. obviously the ability to switch out the lens is a nice feature that lets you use these at both indoor and outdoor ranges. they are comfortable and don't slip down my nose.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This was a free gift and that is about all it is worth.... If this was not a free gift it would be a waist of money period. To claim its value of around $80.00 is nuts. You can get a pair of safety glasses with interchangeable lenses for around $14.00 at the high end, and many safety minded companies will give you a pair for free so that you will use them at home. Will I ever use these, probably not, I use a better pair of safety glasses that fit better and protect better and they cost around $7.00. When I ordered my product from B & H and saw these were being offered as a free gift at the price they quoted they were worth, it was really an insult.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really cheap looking and quality is bad. Cheap in quality. Uncomfortable. Trying to give it away and nobody won't even take it. Just sitting in my bag for emergency but I wouldn't pay a dollar for it. No wonder it was free.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty nice set A pretty nice set as a complementary purchase to the Redfield scope. I've been an Oakley glasses user since the late 80's and have found them to be excellent. On my smallish face these lenses have excellent coverage but rest on my cheeks. I like how the lenses lock in place similar to how various Oakley frames do similar. I've become accustomed to having various lens profiles to contour and these generic shapes aren't ideal. I don't know where these are made and the frames aren't stamped. The gray lens has a coating flaw on the inside but this is not in the field of view fortunately. Overall a pretty nice safety glass but I can't see paying $ for them. Oakley is USA made and offers many options for lens to frame variations for fit. Still an Oakley fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Adaptable Aegis Arc These glasses provide a good balance of protection and style when at the range, performing laborious tasks, doing extreme sports, or just wearing them every day for increased protection. The lens quality is superior to most sunglasses, and the protection they provide is a huge advantage. The glasses feature a one piece lens that is very large which is good for aiding in situational awareness as well as keeping sun glare or objects from coming through the edges. A good buy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New favorite shooting glass I have a couple pairs of safety glasses and shooting glasses that I use at the range, and this is by far my favorite. It may not be as stylish as my polarized Oakley Half Jackets, but I like the extra coverage, interchangeable lenses, and extra ventilation. The arms are very flexible and fit well under ear pro. I received this as a promo item with a Surefire light, but I would buy this again if I ever lost them. Great for all shooting applications!
