question

Will these melt in front of an aputure 120 d?
Asked by: Mohammad
The Rosco Cinegel filters have a softening temperature of 257F (125 C) and a melting temperature of 572F (300 C). They are designed for use with hot lights, but the filter may eventually warp or melt if the temperature is hot enough. Compared to tungsten light fixtures, the Aputure Light Storm LS C120d Daylight LED is not a hot light (by design, LED lights are considered cool lights as they put out much less heat in comparison to their light output), though there is SOME heat output from the LED light fixture. The filters will last much longer with the Aputure Light Storm LS C120d Daylight LED compared to use with a tungsten light, but extremely long continuous usage times and using the filter directly against the front of the light may eventually cause some warping (lighting gels are not designed to last forever and should eventually be replaced). However, they should last quite some time, and if taped to the front of the reflector or used on a filter gel holder, they should have a much extended life span.
