The natural Yamaha FGX730SC is an acoustic/electric steel-string guitar that features a cutaway body and 14th fret neck joint designed for easier top-fret access, and a sound well suited for a variety of musical styles. The guitar is constructed with a solid spruce top, rosewood back and sides, a 25.6"-scale nato neck with a rosewood fingerboard, a rosewood bridge, and a gloss finish.
For electronics, it features an A.R.T. 1-way pickup system (System 56) that faithfully reproduces the dynamic sound produced by the body of the guitar. This system functions using two undersaddle piezo pickups, one for the bass strings, and one for the treble strings; these signals are then summed to create a full-spectrum signal. The pickup system provides a 3-band graphic equalizer with an adjustable middle frequency band (80 Hz to 10 kHz) and volume control. Additional features include a built-in chromatic tuner and a battery check indicator.
