The Tiffen 72mm UV Protector Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. This filter is especially useful when photographing at high altitudes or around bodies of water. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.

The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Absorbs some ultraviolet light and reduces bluish cast of daylight.
Clear filter provides no additional coloration or contrast, allowing you to pair this filter with others.

72mm UV Protector Filter is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 332.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great filter, reasonable price This filter definitely gets the job done, and I know that I can trust the brand. I had a 43mm Tiffen UV filter for my HV30 and never had any problems with it, and so far this filter has been the same on my XHA1. I shoot mostly outdoor sports, such as surfing, where my camera is ALWAYS exposed to the harsh elements. This filter provides an easy-to-remove protective layer in front of my lens that I can just pull off and clean when it gets dirty with salt, sand, or water. I'm so glad none of that stuff gets on my actual lens! It's also a reasonable price so if it ever breaks or gets scratched, I won't have to pay and arm and a leg to replace it...you're stoked!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This UV filter saved the day I already had a UV filter on my 72mm lens, but when I bought a ring light their 72 mm ring which holds the ring light onto your lens would not thread onto my UV filter. By chance my friend had found a Tiffen UV filter for his same 72mm lens and when he threaded it on and the tried his 72mm ring and then the ring light it worked. So we took a trip to B&H and sure enough the salesman knew exactly what our problem was, showed us a Tiffen 72mm UV filter and bingo, it works like a charm holding the 72mm ring threaded onto it perfectly. Problem solved, and inexpensively with an excellent Tiffen UV filter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great filter for the money. Its always said you get what you pay for, im sure there are a 1000 reasons to buy a $200 filter .. I dont buy into that stuff for what i do im not gonna notice $150 difference in my photos. Its great quality, well built, Does what it is supposed to, and the peace of mind having the protection there is worth the money alone. Tiffen really made me a believer with this. Im using a d7000 with Tamron 17-270 and the picture quality was not effected at all. Great Job Tiffen, i will be outfitting the rest of my lens with Tiffen products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality Insurance I use this filter on my Canon XH A1s. I've had it a couple of weeks and it works well. This is a great way to protect your investment as it screws on IN FRONT of the cameras lens. The lens cap then fits over the filter. It is sturdy and screws in nicely. It has not come loose or fallen off. It is also from a reliable brand and is one of the least expensive filters you can buy. The only con I can see is that it is not designed for broadcast or high end HD productions. So, if you have very high end broadcast or cinema quality lenses purchase an HD high end (read more expensive) uv filter. However for SD, HDV, or Prosumer level HD, this is a great piece of equipment. UV filters are a must!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superior Quality You just cannot go wrong with Tiffen lens filters. I have alwys been happy with them, and they last a lifetime. This one I bought to protect the lens on my Canon XH-A1s. It has no distortion, is just enough UV protection to bring out colors in daylight, but not even dark enough to notice it is a UV filter at all, which is very nice for leaving it on the lens perminantly for protection of the lens, and to keep dirt from entering into the lens itself. This lens was engeneered for professionals, and being a professional myslef, I highly recommend this to everyone from amature to professional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Budget Lens Protection The Tiffen filters are a decent name at a decent price. I always sport a UV filter on all my glass since I shoot outdoor off-road events. Rocks and dust are always flying my way and the tiffen filters do a wonderful job of protecting my valuable glass. Id rather replace a hundred of these filters a year than risk losing one piece of good glass. There Clear Clean and Crisp and you cant even tell the filter is on the lens. I've never had a glare issue or any other problem with the Tiffen filters and would recomend them to anyone for basic lens protection

Rated 4 out of 5 by from As expected I use these Tiffen UV filters to protect my lenses and they do it well. I'd much rather scratch one of these than my good glass. If it gets scratched or too dirty while shooting, I can just screw it off and keep going with my lens. The ring is metal and feels sturdy. I took off one star just because I think they scratch a little more easily than some filters I've used.
