Vixen Optics gives you a complete astronomical observation rig to view the Moon and planets with the A80M 80mm f/11.4 Refractor Telescope with SX2 Mount and StarBook One. The 80mm refractor-style optical tube assembly (OTA) produces high-contrast images that are bright with true color rendition, without comas or halos. This is accomplished by the use of achromatic glass elements that virtually eliminates chromatic aberrations, which makes different color wavelengths to move out of sync; and spherical aberrations that causes distortion at the edges of the lens. The objective lens has anti-reflection multicoatings to minimize light loss and maximize transmission.

The OTA is guided by the Sphinx SX2 equatorial mount. Made for long observation sessions, it features precision motors and gears for accurate long-duration tracking. Dual stepper motors provide smooth and virtually vibration-free tracking that run at up to 250pps. Its full-circle brass wheel gear allows the mount to track over extremely long periods with little error.

Controlling the rig is the Star Book One (SB1) computer, which helps you find, observe, and track celestial objects. Since near and deep sky objects appear to move at different speeds, the SB1 features celestial, solar, lunar, and King's rate tracking speeds. An integrated autoguider port adds to the mount's usability.

Vixen's HAL 130 tripod is included to provide a stable observation platform. Its adjustable height allows the user to set the position of the telescope to their liking for easy and comfortable viewing. The top of the tripod is powder-coated with a durable finish that resists chipping, flaking, and fading. The tripod is collapsible for portability and easier storage.
