The R200SS Telescope with SX2 Mount and Dual Speed Focuser from Vixen is a Newtonian reflector telescope with a focal length of 800mm, a 4.0"/200mm clear aperture, and an f/4.0 parabolic primary mirror. Its large aperture, compact body, and enhanced focusing system are well suited for astrophotography of nebulae, star clusters, and comets.
The R200SS is configured with a precision optical system that delivers extremely sharp images without chromatic aberration. The surface of the primary mirror features state-of-the-art mulitcoating technology for enhanced light-transmission, minimized reflections, and a viewing experience that's free from distractions.
This package includes the R200SS telescope with the Vixen Dual Speed Focuser, 232mm tube rings and a dovetail plate, a 7x50 finderscope, and Vixen's SLV 9mm and 20mm eyepiece.
The OTA is guided by the Sphinx SX2 equatorial mount. Made for long observation sessions, it features precision motors and gears for accurate long-duration tracking. Dual stepper motors provide smooth and virtually vibration-free tracking that run at up to 250pps. Its full-circle brass wheel gear allows the mount to track over extremely long periods with little error.
Controlling the rig is the Star Book One (SB1) computer, which helps you find, observe, and track celestial objects. Since near and deep sky objects appear to move at different speeds, the SB1 features celestial, solar, lunar, and King's rate tracking speeds. An integrated autoguider port adds to the mount's usability.
Vixen's HAL 130 tripod is included to provide a stable observation platform. Its adjustable height allows the user to set the position of the telescope to their liking for easy and comfortable viewing. The top of the tripod is powder-coated with a durable finish that resists chipping, flaking, and fading. The tripod is collapsible for portability and easier storage.
