FB-CS Cold Shoe is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive But Expect the Usual Great Kirk Value This Kirk cold shoe is a little expensive, comparatively, but it is far above the cheap junk one sees littered about on photography websites like confetti in the aftermath of a Wall Street victory parade. Like all Kirk products, it is well-designed and finely machined. It is especially advantageous, if not essential, for Canon Speedlite flash units (and others) with the locking foot. The flash unit's foot slides smoothly but securely into the Kirk cold shoe, and then the opening at the rear of the cold shoe receives the locking pin that extends downward from the foot when the locking lever on the Speedlite is activated. Also, this cold shoe is made in the United States. I tried another, cheaper cold shoe that is among the few having the opening for receiving the locking pin on Canon and other higher-end flash units, but did not like it. The cheaper cold shoe required so much force to slide the flash into place that I will never use it again for fear of damaging the electrical contacts on the bottom of the foot.
