Magewell 32060 Overview

  • 1Description

Record or stream an HDMI signal via USB 3.0 with the Magewell USB Capture HDMI Gen 2. With its HDMI v1.4a input, this capture device will accept resolutions of up to 1920 x 1200 at 60p. If you need to stream or record at a certain resolution, the USB Capture HDMI will internally up or down-covert the input signal to the set resolution. It can also perform frame-rate conversion and de-interlacing in real-time with its own hardware, taking the processing load off of your computer's CPU.

Because the USB Capture HDMI uses the existing drivers on your computer, the capture device will work with any software that supports those drivers. If you don't have a USB 3.0 port available, the USB Capture HDMI will work with a USB 2.0 port, although the resolution and frame rate capabilities will be reduced due to the restricted bandwidth.

No drivers needed for Windows, Mac, or Linux
Automatically determines input video format and converts it to the specified output size and frame rate
Automatically converts input audio formats to 48 KHz PCM stereo audio
64MB of DDR2 onboard memory to control frame buffer and avoid interruption or dropped frames when USB bandwidth is occupied

    Magewell 32060 Reviews

USB Capture HDMI Gen 2 is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 67.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding This thing just works. The second you connect it, bang - you have the correct video/audio signal from your source camera. I bought this to replace my BlackMagic box, which requires complex and time consuming adjustments and settings (which sometimes work, and sometimes do not). But the Magewell has no software to worry about. It's plug and play. Love this thing. If you do any kind of live streaming, the Magewell is a must to put into your camera bag. Yes, it gets a little warm (so does BM), but I streamed for 8 hours straight without any issues at all. Highly recommend. I have not tried the SDI version, but bought and use this HDMI version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It really works! I had been looking for a way to use my Canon XA20 camcorder as a web cam. I connected the Magwell Xi100 to the camera and to my MacBook pro to use with Google Hangouts. Everything just connected by itself and worked. I didn't have to go into system settings or set anything except to choose the Magwell in Hangouts. Now I can Zoom pan and tilt, and connect good microphones. My viewers like what they see and hear as compared to the webcam. I couldn't get an expensive alternative device to work even after going through detailed instructions, trial and error.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Capture Card I teach online and also do a lot of video work. I wanted to do live shows, live sessions with students but I didn't want to use my default computer/laptop web cam. So after doing a lot of research on the best capture card to get, this one had great reviews so I decided to get it. So far, it's working very well and so easy to use. Just plug it in and that's it. I'm not sure if it's my computer/laptop, but I notice sometimes that there's a little bit of latency when recording. I haven't done any live streaming yet; I'm hoping that the latency won't be there when doing live streaming. But so far, it's been working very well and I plan to use it on a lot of different events and ways.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth Every Penny! Streamed a film premiere event for investors outside the country clearly and in FULL HD. This little device processes everything within. The audio was slightly tinny but it was way better than the similar blackmagic design capture devices. Those things are garbage. No need to buy extra equipment with the magewell either. Very impressed with this unit. Came in silver and not black as pictured but who cares. I bought it for it's functionality and it's color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Is the best thing ever!!!!! We do livestream for events, churches, concerts etc, we have used any kind of device to capture HD video to MACs and PCs and most of them fails, we stick with just s few, best combination for us was a Mac computer and a Black Magic capture we are mobile so this was was not juts perfect but really reliable, I read good reviews from this little Magewell and decided to order 1, as soon as arrived it feels so light and small compared to the BM that I didnt paid to much attention to it, just run a small test and throw it in a cables box, Once in a big National TV studio we are doing a live stream in a really hard conditions we only can use laptops no desktops, we had no backup streamer and for some strange reason the BM capture didnt work, not sure if the power the laptop conection, we have several BM captures and they do not work, I remember this little thing, in the middle of the crisis I took it connected for first time in a Mac Pro laptop and was recognized immediate for all software at full 1080 frame size with perfect image and sound using a simple USB3 port, this thing is awesome so light and so powerfull, after that I used a lot sometimes with just a simple laptop and one camera and works perfect, this can work with any kind of software (even native software we have) it works with FMLE all versions, with Wirecast all versions, it read perfect HDMI output from BLACK MAGIC ATEM family switchers, we change our captures to this little thing and we are so far so happy, I didnt try yet the SDI version only the HDMI and is the best thing in HD capture I see in long time. One small thing you computer (USB3 host) need to be a little bit powerful (i7 quad core at least) to receive full 1080 signal otherwise it will just read 480p or 720p ALSO it works with USB2.0 but give you only 480p frame size, for some of my clients this is good enough. It get hot but can last streaming for hours we are using in 7/8 hours continue sessions without any problems. I didnt buy from B&H i found in @ at same price, BUY IT you WONT REGRET IT.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seamless experience UVC compliant device means no drivers and it shows up in Windows just like any USB webcam. I wanted to use this to bring in the HDMI Program Out of an ATEM into my computer for use as a WebRTC source (Hangouts, Livestream Live Interview feature, etc). It works flawlessly in Chrome with no setup other than selecting it as my default webcam. It also works great in OBS and Livestream for use as an external HDMI input.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works ok but assembled wrong at factory The dongle does what it is supposed to do, but when we received it, the circuit board inside the housing was oriented the wrong way. Because of this, it was impossible to plug in any connectors until we took the case apart and reoriented the board in the case. Fortunately we had the tiny torx drivers to do the job.
