Convergent Design SSD Media Overview

This is a proprietary 2.5" 1TB Server-Grade SSD from Convergent Design, made specifically for the Odyssey 7, 7Q, and 7Q+ monitors/recorders. It's designed to maintain the read/write speeds required by the Odyssey throughout its lifespan. It also features a power protection circuit that in the event of a power loss will close out the current file to prevent corruption of the file and remaining data.

This SSD uses a SATA III interface for offloading files to a computer. A SATA adapter is not included, but any off-the-shelf adapter or USB 3.0 SSD adapter will work.

Each Convergent Design Premium SSD is individually tested by Convergent Design for full compatibility with the Odysseys. Test results proved failures to be nearly non-existent. Prior to distribution, all units are burned in and checked for errors.

So it mentions for the C500 60 fps for 25 minutes. Would you get a longer reordering time on a C100 Mkll on 60fps? Also how long does it take to important data from one of these to a laptop with a 4.0 Ghz processor?

What determines the recording time is the size of the files generated. So an apples to apples comparison - 2K from both cameras recorded in the same codec - should take up about the same amount of space. As far as data import the speed is determined largely by how you're transferring. If you're using Thunderbolt or USB 3.0 the transfer rate is obviously going to be faster than if you're using USB 2.0. We use docking stations that you can just plug the SSD into and they go at a pretty good clip. A terabyte is a lot of data, though, so look for a fairly long transfer. I haven't filled mine up so far so I can't give you an exact figure from my own experience but I'm guessing - and someone may correct me - that you're looking at around an hour with a fast pipe.
