question

Could someone tell me what the reception of this unit like without line of sight?
Asked by: Toby C.
Do to the tremendous variance in interference factors at any given location, it is not possible to say with any guarantee as to what this or any unit's performance will be. That is why manufacturer's do not list such numbers. Having said that, since this unit is powerful enough to go 2000', it is my opinion that in a typical movie or video set situation where the working distances are usually under 100', I feel that this unit should do well for such a distance even in a building of concrete walls. Of course, your mileage may vary.

question

are the SDI in/out HD-SDI or simply SDI?
Asked by: Anonymous
The SDI connector handles the AV-SF-2000T Spitfire's 3G-SDI signal. This signal is twice as fast as HD-SDI. You need this greater capacity to push a HD 1080p60 picture though the air a great distance. Be rest assured that in the end, you will see a HD picture, not a SD, (Standard Definition) picture.

question

Could I use this HDMI splitter from my Canon 7D as a way to split the HDMI signal between 2 video monitors while filming my project?
Asked by: Edgar
You could use this splitter however you would be tied to a AC power supply. If you are not moving and AC power is available, you are good. If you need to move, there is unfortunately no known battery powered HDMI splitter. In this instance, I suggest a loop through HDMI monitor. That way you go from the camera, to the loop through monitor and send the HDMI signal to the second monitor with full power. This way you do away with a box you do not need thus making life on set just that much easier. As a former camera assistant, this is how I would do it. Attached are two examples of loop through monitors: one a field monitor and one an on-board camera monitor.
