Supporting a total takeoff weight of 18 pounds, the SSpreading Wings S900 with Zenmuse Z15-BMPC Gimbal and A2 Flight Controller is a hexcopter from DJI that allows you to capture aerial video using a separately available Blackmagic Pocket Camera camera. It features carbon fiber frame arms to cut down on weight, which fold down for storage and transport. The included Z15-BMPC gimbal helps keep the camera stabilized and isolated from vibration, and allows you to pan, tilt, and even cant the camera for more dynamic shots. Used with a 6S 12000mAh battery, available separately, the S900 can fly for up to 18 minutes fully laden.

This bundle features the version of the S900 features the DJI A2 flight control system, a collection of hardware which acts as the hexcopter's brains. It takes data from the GPS, gyros, barometer, and other sensors while applying any pilot inputs to help ensure stable flying and smooth video. The A2 can be configured for different flying styles and pilot skill levels, with features like Intelligent Orientation Control (IOC), Point of Interest (POI), one motor fail protection, and a Return-to-Home fail safe in the event contact is lost with the transmitter. Thanks to CAN-bus peripheral ports, A2 can integrate other accessories, such as the Lightbridge unified video, data, and control system.



The S900 is not a ready-to-fly (RTF) aircraft. It does require some assembly and a transmitter (hand-held radio controller) and batteries are not included. Transmitters the WooKong supports include ma wide range PCM or 2.4 GHz models that have at least 7 channels. For power, it uses LiPo flight batteries in 6S configuration, with a 10,000 to 15,000 mAh capacity, and requires a discharge rate of at least 15C.

    Airframe Design

    Folding Arms
    The prop arms are made of carbon fiber, which is used because of its high strength-to-weight ratio. For transport and storage, the arms fold down while the propellers split down the middle further reducing its size
    Retractable Landing Gear
    The landing gear raise above the level of the gimbal during flight to give you a full 360° of shooting. In addition, the gimbal bracket is separated from the main airframe by specifically designed dampers. This significantly reduces high-frequency vibrations to help make your shots clearer and sharper
    Removable Upper Center Board
    The upper center board can be removed, allowing access to the flight controller and IMU, and giving you a convenient way to setup the power distribution system. This design also simplifies installation of the main controller, iOSD, Lightbridge, or any other accessories that interface with the flight computer
    Secure Power Distribution System
    Gold-plated metal bearings with a unique screw design secure the power cords, ensuring cables will not come loose during flight and are designed to provide easy setup
    Sparkproof Plug
    The terminal connectors on the electrical wiring are shrouded to prevent accidental short circuiting and possible damage to sensitive electronics when connecting or removing them

    Performance

    Greater Power
    A 40A electronic speed controller (ESC) is built in to each arm. Combined with its 4114 motors, high performance 1552 folding propellers, and V-type mixer design, the S900 has a maximum thrust of 5.5 lb. The motor adopts a single wire stator design, offering improved heat dissipation, better performance, and a more reliable system than earlier models
    Angled Arm Design
    Each arm is designed with an 8° inversion and a 3° inclination, making the aircraft more stable when rolling and pitching, yet more flexible when rotating
  • DJI A2 Flight Control System for Multi-Rotor Aircraft
    The A2 Flight Control System for Multi-Rotor Aircraft from DJI provides the autonomy that four, six, and eight rotor aircraft require for stable flight. The A2 breaks down into five main components: the MC (main controller) with CAN-Bus hub and receiver, IMU, GPS, PMU, and LED. The IMU, GPS, and PMU provides the MC with altitude, acceleration, location, orientation, and other data which gets combined with any pilot instructions and translated into motor response. The system supports Quad I, Quad X, Hex I, Hex V, Hex Y, Hex IY, Oct X, Oct I, and Oct V motor mixes. The included receiver is compatible with Futaba FASST series and DJI DESST series transmitters.

    A2 Flight Control System

      The A2 flight control system is comprised of the main controller, IMU, GPS, PMU, and Bluetooth LED indicator

      Main Controller
      The aircraft's equivalent of a CPU. The main controller takes pilot input and, factoring in data from the IMU, GPU, and other sources, instructs the ESCs at the motors. In addition, the A2 main controller incorporates a 2.4 GHz DR16 receiver which is compatible with Futaba FASST series and DJI DESST series transmitters (radio controllers). To connect peripherals, the main unit features a CAN-bus terminal with 12 output channels

      IMU
      The IMU, or inertial measurement unit, is the primary source of information used by the flight controller so that the aircraft can maintain a stable flying condition. It uses a combination of accelerometers and gyros to collect this data

      GPS
      The GPS allows the aircraft to keep track of where it is in two-dimensional flight. This enables various types of assisted flying not otherwise possible, such as keeping the aircraft in a fixed hover while shooting video. A high gain antenna mounts on the end of a stock installed on top of the frame

      PMU
      The power management unit (PMU) regulates power being fed to the flight controller and other components. It features voltage detection and alarming, and has an extendable CAN-bus port

      LED Bluetooth Indicator
      The LED-BTU-I module provides the USB and Bluetooth connectivity required so you can adjust various flight control parameters using a computer or mobile device. Bluetooth wireless communications can be extend using the 2.4G Bluetooth Datalink, which relays Bluetooth data over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi for use with the iPad Ground Station, a waypoint-based autopilot mapping system
    Intelligent Orientation Control (IOC)
    On multi-rotor aircraft-- as with airplanes--pressing "forward" on the transmitter (radio controller) moves the nose forward. However, because multi-rotors are largely symmetrical, it can be easy to lose track of which way the nose is pointing, causing the controls to become counter-intuitive. To avoid this, IOC--when enabled using the assistant software--defines movement relative to the pilot so that, for example, pressing forward will always result in the aircraft moving forward from the pilot's perspective
    Point of Interest (POI)
    When the GPS signal is good, users can record the current position of the aircraft as a point of interest by a preset switch on the transmitter (radio controller). The aircraft can achieve a circling flight around the point of interest with the nose pointing at the POI in an area of 16.4 to 1,640' radius, when the roll command is given. This function is ideal for shooting of a fixed or stationary object, creating an aerial tracking shot
    Intelligent Landing Gear Function
    Once you enable the Intelligent Landing Gear function in the assistant software, the landing gear will default at the lower position when the aircraft is on the ground. The system will also lower the landing gear in an emergency, the event of motor failure, or on auto landing, to protect the aircraft and gimbal. You can lower or retract the landing gear using a switch when the aircraft's altitude is over 16.4' from the ground
    Return to Home Failsafe
    Assuming the GPS has been properly calibrated and enough satellites are available, the aircraft will automatically return to its home point in the event contact with the transmitter (radio controller) is ever lost

    It is also possible to assign a button using the assistant software that, when pressed, will cause the aircraft to automatically return to the home point
    One-Motor Fail Protection
    Available when the aircraft is in attitude or GPS attitude mode. In the event one motor fails the aircraft can maintain a stable flying condition, enough that it can safely be brought back home and landed

  • DJI Zenmuse Z15-BMPCC 3-Axis Gimbal for Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera
    The Zenmuse Z15-BMPCC 3-Axis Gimbal for Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera from DJI performs two key functions: keeping the camera level and providing stabilization, thus helping you transform a larger multi-rotor UAV, such as the S1000, into a platform for professional aerial video and aerial photography. Featuring ±0.02° control angle accuracy, the Z15-BMPCC supports three operation modes; two optimized for aerial video and photo use and one for FPV (first person view) applications. The gimbal is operated using a dedicated stick on your transmitter (hand-held radio controller), and the receiver must have at least four free channels that can be assigned to gimbal operation.

    Each version of the Z15 Gimbal is designed for a specific camera and lens combination. This version is for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera with the Olympus M.ZUIKO Digital ED 12mm f/2.0 lens. Additionally, it is specifically balanced for this precise setup. Additions to the camera or lens, such as filters, can increase the weight and alter the weight distribution potentially damaging the gimbal.

    Compatible Hardware
    The Z15 Gimbal requires a larger multi-rotor UAV aircraft, such as the S100 or S800, that has installed either the A2 or WooKong-M flight control system. Depending on the system, the Z15 Gimbal is installed in, additional separately available electronics and mounting hardware may be required. apart from the flight control system, the receiver must have at least four open channels, and the transmitter must be programmable to support gimbal operation
    3-Axis Rotation Control
    The control method is designed to be simple and intuitive: the gimbal-assigned transmitter stick has direct control over the relative rotation speed. The design incorporates a tail potentiometer to increase control, stability, and precision, and the internal slip rings avoid needlessly complicated wiring. Both the power and signal lines are integrated into the tubes of the gimbal, which provides unhindered control axes, allowing the gimbal to pan 360°, tilt +50 to -140°, and roll ±40°

    Orientation-locked Control Mode: Keeps the gimbal locked with the aircraft nose direction

    Non-Orientation-locked Control Mode: Gimbal point stays the same regardless of which way the nose is pointing

    Back to Mid-point Mode (FPV Mode): Centrally locks the gimbal in the direction of the nose. In this mode the leveling and stabilizing functionality of the gimbal is negated

    Windows Assistant Software
