question

I use D750 & D810 with CLS indoors a lot, very reliable with SB500 & SB700! (1) Will the YN-568EX work with CLS Commander Groups as well? (2) CLS in camera commander only has two groups A & B but I would need a third group for remote setting power of the YN (different power settings desired). Can I set the power on the YN-568EX MANUALLY on the speed light, but use CLS to trigger it? I am guessing that it may not be possible since I would need to assign it to a group to trigger it..... Thank you.
Asked by: Art
To use the Yongnuo YN568EX as a wireless infrared optical slave compatible with the Nikon i-TTL CLS flash system, you would hold the MODE button down, then release the button and switch the flash to the Slave Nikon (Sn) setting by pressing the MODE button again. You may then select the Unit group (A, B, or C) by first pressing/holding down the High-speed/Rear Curtain Sync button, then simultaneously press the MODE button, and you may select the channel by first pressing/holding the High-speed/Rear Curtain Sync button, then simultaneously press the ZOOM button. To use CLS and set the flash output manually, you would have to select the group in which you wish to use the YN568EX flash as described above, then use the Commander Mode menu either in your camera or on the Master flash mounted to your camera, and set the manual flash output level on the desired group in the Commander Mode menu. Flash output is not set on the YN568EX when using the CLS wireless mode.

question

I have a Nikon D7100 camera. Will this flash is compatible for D7100?Can I use the complete TTL functionality like a Nikon flash?
Asked by: Anonymous
It should but...The one I bought is defective and off-camera flash using TTL does not work with my Nikon D7500.Apparently this bug was also reported by many users in the internet so beware of it.

question

Is there a bounce diffuser for this flash? I cannot find one. I bought the one that goes with canon since I couldn't find it, but it does work of course.
Asked by: Amanda N.
I have the Nikon version of this flash. The diffuser is located above the lamp and pulls out so that you can place it over the Flash unit

question

Does this work with the YN560-TX controller?
Asked by: Anonymous
yeah its working but you need more controller and receiver for this purpose so its costly, first you need yn622n-tx transmitter which receive signal from YN560-Tx and further you need yn622n receiver for receiving signal from yn622n-tx,YN560-Tx >> YN622n-TX >> YN622n (Flash top on this)

question

Does anyone know of a decent video explaining to a newbie how to use this thing? The manual is practically usless to someone like me that isn't already familiar with flashes.

We cannot recommend any specific online videos, but a simple Google or YouTube search for this model of flash should bring up several options. While we may not have this exact flash in any of our B&H videos, you could check out our YouTube channel for more general flash videos as well.

question

Will the flash be used for 1st and slow curtain sync as it the specs above it says high speed and 2nd curtain syn?
Asked by: Mohamed N.
Yes. 1st curtain sync is the standard sync method, where the flash fires when the first shutter curtain is fully opened. The flash can also be used at slower shutter speeds, for example dragging the shutter to fill in some ambient light. I use mine 1st curtain almost all the time.
