Rokinon 135mm f/2.0 Overview

The 135mm f/2.0 ED UMC Lens for Sony E Mount from Rokinon is a manual focus telephoto prime lens useful for portraiture and most telephoto applications. Its fast f/2.0 maximum aperture is effective in low light and enables shallow depth of field control. The optical design includes one extra-low dispersion lens element to control chromatic aberration, contributing to sharp, color-accurate imaging, and each of its lens elements features Ultra Multi-Coating to improve light transmission and reduce ghosting and flare. An internal focus system prevents the front end from rotating which allows more effective use of variable filters.

A durable metal barrel with a wide focus ring and manual aperture control ring offer tactile control over focus and exposure. An included, removable lens hood deters stray light from entering the lens, while protecting it from accidental impact and precipitation.

Rokinon 135mm f/2.0 Reviews

Mainly for astrophotography

Very sharp at f/4 corner to corner. The lens is fairly heavy and would benefit from a rotating tripod collar. I use a macro slider (Manfroto 454) to help with balance on the star tracker otherwise it would be front heavy and subject to tilt.

Just what I was looking for...Just what I was promised!!!

I bought this for Astrophotography. It is touted as an exceptional lens for wide and flat field pics of deep sky targets. I've had to wait for some good nights, but it has proved itself under less than favourable Bortle 8/9 skies. My first images using this great relatively inexpensive lens on a stock Nikon D5500. Get one!

Not an Canon EF lens but it will mount to an EOS camera. Can only be used in a total manual mode. Love the 135mm & F/2.0 capability, I use it for Astrophotography so far.

Not recognized by Fujifilm X-H

Great reviews for this lens, but it didn't work for me. My X-H2S does not recognize it and the lens doesn't lock in place, there is a 0.5 mm play when you turn it. Oh, well...sending it back and ordering a (more expensive) Fuji lens instead.

Great lens!

Bought is for astrophotography. Using it to MFT only- the image is even and very sharp from center to corner even fully open.

A Must Have Budget Lens

This is an amazing lens for portraits and other subjects where you need a very sharp subject and a beautiful bokeh. With the bright view at F2.0 and a large and smooth focusing ring, I never had a problem with the manual focus. So why only 4 stars? I got an identical lens five years ago. Recently, the iris got a bit sticky and doesn't close to the correct aperture fast enough. The repair estimate was too high, so I purchased a new one.

Is this lens compatible with the Nikon D3500?
Asked by: Lynn
Unfortunately for some reason the chip does not work on the D3500. The lenses are compatible but in fully manual mode and only on M, the other modes give a lens incompatible warning.

question

Why does this lens not come with an AE CHIP for Canon?? For traits I'd want the focus beep confirmation and the ability to shift aperture through the camera.

Rokinon offer both versions and different price points.
