Rokinon 135mm f/2.0 overview

  • 1Description

The 135mm f/2.0 ED UMC Lens for Fujifilm X Mount from Rokinon is a manual focus telephoto prime lens useful for portraiture and most telephoto applications. Its fast f/2.0 maximum aperture is effective in low light and enables shallow depth of field control. With a rounded 9-blade diaphragm, shallow depth of field imaging will be rendered with pleasing out-of-focus highlights. On APS-C format mirrorless cameras, this lens provides the 35mm equivalent focal length of 202.5mm. Its minimum focus distance is 2.6'.

The optical design includes one extra-low dispersion lens element to control chromatic aberration, contributing to sharp, color-accurate imaging, and each of its lens elements features Ultra Multi-Coating to improve light transmission and reduce ghosting and flare. An internal focus system prevents the front end from rotating which allows more effective use of variable filters.

A durable metal barrel with a wide focus ring and manual aperture control ring offer tactile control over focus and exposure. An included, removable lens hood deters stray light from entering the lens, while protecting it from accidental impact and precipitation.

    Rokinon 135mm f/2.0 reviews

135mm f/2.0 ED UMC Lens for Fujifilm X Mount is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW is all I can say!! I was looking for a fast lens for low-light/portrait/short-telephoto purposes with some nice bokeh and sharpness for my newly acquired Fuji X-E2. Fuji offerings are too expensive for me so I ordered this lens and the 85mm f/1.4 brother almost at the same time. Decided to keep the one I liked (I was all set to like the 85mm) or return them both in case I didn't like them. I am very new to fully manual lenses so I was kind of hesitant. Got the 85mm first, played with it for a week or so. Never could warm up to it, despite it is reasonably sharp and has nice IQ overall. Retured it and I wasn't expecting much from 135mm lens after the 85mm experience. Finally after a long wait got the 135mm. Guess what, before the first 10 shots I was grinning ear to ear. To my brain a lens was not supposed to be this sharp. Immediately apparent was the fact that lens was easily exceeding 16MP resolution on my Fuji XE-2 (thinking of XPro-2 already LOL). Color, contrast and bokeh are just perfect. Here is the worst part: 135mm is not that useful for me but still I can't let this lens go. I have used couple of Canon L glasses my dad owns (300mm f/4.0, 100mm f/2.0 macro) but I never felt anything like this before. As you may be able to tell, I am not a pro photographer or even an advanced ameteur. Still I found takinig great shots with this lens is easier than I imagined. Mirrorless cameras help more with manual focus so that Is a major factor. So Am I Going To Return This Lens? HELL NO! You have to pry it from my cold dead hands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb lens Bought this lens for my Fujifilm x series’ cameras. It is a marvelous lens. Produces stunning images. Sharp. Contrast. Color. It has it all. With 135mm I’m not too concerned about auto focus. In my personal opinion, there is no negative about this lens. Great all around. Especially considering it’s 1/3 cost of most “decent” 135mm lenses. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lens Although heavy and without auto focus I love this lens. On my XT2 it is around 200mm. If you can hold this beast steady or have a tri-pod it is capable of getting spectacular images. The XT2's focus assist should help. I did not buy this lens for sports or action photography so I'm fully satisfied
