The Nikon F-mount version of this lens features an AE chip that provides auto exposure metering in Auto, Program, Aperture-Priority, Shutter Priority, and Manual modes as well as a focus confirmation in the camera's viewfinder when focus has been reached manually.

The optical design includes one extra-low dispersion lens element to control chromatic aberration, contributing to sharp, color-accurate imaging, and each of its lens elements features Ultra Multi-Coating to improve light transmission and reduce ghosting and flare. An internal focus system prevents the front end from rotating which allows more effective use of variable filters.

A durable metal barrel with a wide focus ring and manual aperture control ring offer tactile control over focus and exposure. An included, removable lens hood deters stray light from entering the lens, while protecting it from accidental impact and precipitation.

Rokinon 135mm f/2.0 Reviews

Great value for money, small issue with Z bodies

Got this largely due to the astro community loving it and having produced some great stuff with it I'm going to have to agree. Stopped down to 2.8 its super sharp. Feels really solidly built as well. The hood leaves a little to be desired though. It clicks into place and its not going anywhere but the fit isn't tight and it has some rattle. I've seen this issue in other reviews so I was expecting it. I put a very small strip of clear tape in the lock groove on the lens itself and its fixed and not visible but its such a weird thing to be cheap on. One small usability issue that is not the fault of the lens but should be known; its VERY finicky with the Nikon FTZII adapter on a Z mount body. To use the AE chip you need to have the lens set to F22 but the FTZII adapter does not allow the aperture lever full travel inside the bayonet. While it does function as needed it takes almost zero effort to move the ring ever so slightly by accident to the point the camera thinks its no longer in f22 for aperture control and errors out. There's not a graceful place to hold the lens that means you dont accidentally bump it while also not moving the focus ring. Non issue on a tripod but if you plan on using this with an FTZII adapter and handheld its going to be very annoying. Again, this is an issue with the FTZII adapter, not the lens. For walking around I picked up a cheap non passthrough adapter (Fotasy) and just deal with the lack of aperture exif data, its not a big deal. For self confirmation, I put the lens on an old F mount body and the F22 requirement for exif and body controlled aperture and it works wonderfully. It takes a full click of the ring for the camera to see the change just as you would expect.

Nothing but exceptional

As always, B&H delivered in incredible time (I received it within two days of ordering) and the lens itself is incredibly precise. The manual aperture dial on the lens is very useful for astrophotography, which is the reason for my purchase. I highly recommend others following in the same footsteps as me at least consider this lens as an option.

Is this lens compatible with the Nikon D3500?
Asked by: Lynn
Unfortunately for some reason the chip does not work on the D3500. The lenses are compatible but in fully manual mode and only on M, the other modes give a lens incompatible warning.

The Rokinon 135mm f/2.0 Lens for Nikon F Mount with AE Chip is compatible with both the D800 and the D5300. Do note that there is a 1.5x crop factor when using this lens on the D5300, so the true focal length will be approximately 202.5mm.

question

Can I use this lens on a super 35mm digital camcorder like the Sony FS700?
Asked by: Landmark P.
You can if you buy an adaptor. This lens is EF-mount, meanwhile Sony FS700 has Sony-E mount. It will have some cropfactor, though. I'm guessing 1.4 or 1.5x? Meaning you'll probably see it as a 200mm.But it does work, and its a fantastic lens for its price.
