Offering a size reduction of 30% compared to its predecessor, the black PIXMA MX492 Wireless Office All-in-One Inkjet Printer from Canon gives users print, scan, copy, and fax capabilities as well as wireless connectivity without sacrificing a large amount of your valuable desk space. Also, borderless printing is possible and it can create a borderless 4 x 6" photo in about 70 seconds.

Through the use of the 8.5 x 11.7" flatbed or the 20-sheet automatic document feeder, the MX492 can scan documents at up to 2400 x 1200 dpi. Canon MX492 reviews

PIXMA MX492 Wireless Office All-in-One Inkjet Printer (Black) is rated 2.4 out of 5 by 145.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Frustrating Setup The wireless setup process was very time consuming. I change between internet providers from home to work and it doesn't remember them. Also it requests you push the button on the router. My router does not have a button to press. After 10 minutes or so it kicks over ot a manual setup where it finally recognizes the router and ask for the password. My other problem is it won't copy. Always tells me I have wrong paper and to insert the tray. I followed paper loading as outlined by Canon manual but refuses to work. It printed envelopes for the first two times I used that function and now won't print properly. I am forced to go buy another printer which will be an HP.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This Product Has Old School Technology I just needed a printer for scanning and faxing more than printing. I have to agree with everyone else they made the set up very difficult. The LCD screen is very old school, it's 80's black and white, the font size is very small, and it doesn't light up which makes it almost impossible to read unless you get a flash light or have direct lighting. So far it's working fine I was able to set up the Wi-Fi and I just use the printer and scanner. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone because honestly there are printer out there with much easier set ups, more technology and more up to date then this printer. It seems like it's about 10 years behind the times with innovations.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Difficult setup Took me 3 hours to set up. Mostly because the wireless set up recommended first the press the WPS button on my router It connected my printer alright but wiped out the default password on my wireless network and took me 1.5 hours talking to Comcast to reset my router. So, setting up the wireless connection by entering my wireless password asks for the 'passsprase' rather than the 'password' ---confusing, thought they were asking for a reminder or something other than PassWORD. Had to search on line to find out upper case letters have to be proceeded buy an * (asterisk). Very time consuming and not easy set up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Like many other users, can't print wirelessly A couple issues: 1. I'm on a PC that runs on Windows 10 and the wireless connection option seems to be to go through my WiFi connection. When it asks me for the password, I don't see how to enter #s or CAPS (password is of course case-sensitive). 2. Also, once you've typed, I haven't figure out how to erase/go back and over-type. Not user-friendly at all in its setup. So for now, I'm printing with the cable. But if I can't figure it out, I'll see if there's a customer service option and otherwise return it. I've ALWAYS been able to figure out connecting devices, till now... we'll see. 3. As others indicated, the tiny display window is very dim and hard to read.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well This is the first Canon printer I have owned. I have been an Epson user in the past. The main reason for choosing this printer was its compact size and color. I recently moved and my office is now part of my bedroom, which is why I was interested in a white printer. As far as I know, there aren't many on the market. This was fairly easy to set up, but I did find the instructions a little confusing in places. Fortunately, I found a video on YouTube but it didn't have any audio! In the end, I completed the set up and it's working very well. One thing I don't like is the paper tray; you can't pull the tray out to load the paper or adjust the size. Also, the construction is a bit flimsy in my book. But for the price, I'm happy with the purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from satisfied this printer is compact, easy to set up and use. i don't really need the monitor since i print using my phone and can print elsewhere within the house. it's not as noisy as compared to other mx series. it draws out quickly the jammed paper (you don't need to pull it yourself). i actually love it and was satisfied. i print photos and the outcome is great! i just need to adjust the image a little bit since my pc settings and monitor is different from my phone. cons: there is no "high resolution" option when you use their app from your phone. the monitor has no backlight but that's ok since i print using my phone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Paper weight more than printer. I'm a network engineer and programmer. Purchased after my printer/scanner from another mfg was damaged in a move. This is probably the worse printer I have ever used. It can not hold a connection via WIFI to the driver. When it does "connect" it does not print, leaving jobs sitting in the que. The only way to get it to print is turn it off and wait a minute then print. This is the only time it seems to work and even then it's 50/50. Lack of scanning to USB is crazy too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of crud! Bought it today cause it was on sale, and I needed a printer. It has good stats so I thought it was a deal. Software is worthless, user friendliness is worthless, and setting up wifi is a nightmare (would rather have a nightmare on elm street!). Could not get the wifi to go, uninstalled software, and tried again still nothing. So it wants me to do a USB hookup to finish the wifi setup, but wait it's such a piece of crud they don't even ship this printer with proper USB cable!? DO NOT BUY!...
