Compact and lightweight, with a distinctive look that gives it a rugged style to match its optical performance, the Steiner Optics 10 x 26 Safari Ultrasharp Binocular delivers tack-sharp views with an easy-to-use and convenient carrying form factor.

Living up to its name, a proprietary lens coating system is used to not only maximize light transmission, improve contrast, and produce accurate color representation, but also to protect the user's eyes from damaging ultraviolet (UV) radiation. These coatings, when coupled with powerful magnification and a field of view that approaches a wide angle, present the user with bright and clear tack-sharp images and an immersive observational experience. Winged eyecups conform to the user's face and eye sockets to block stray peripheral light and improve the contrast of the view while limiting distractions.

Designed to easily fit in a pocket, pack, or purse, the binocular is made with a dual-hinge system that allows the optical tubes to fold close to the closed bridge to give the binocular the smallest form factor when fully closed. The chassis is made of a lightweight and impact-resistant Makrolon polycarbonate material that is wrapped in an oil-, petroleum-, and chemical-resistant NBR synthetic rubber armor that offers improved grip security, especially in cold and wet weather. Light, compact, and easy-to-use, while delivering bright and clear images, the Safari is made to be your constant companion on the trail, at the stadium, or sightseeing around the world.

Optical Performance
  • High 10x magnification allows for detailed observations of distant subjects
  • 26mm objectives ensure thin optical tubes to maintain a slim form factor
  • Compact roof prism light path adds to the overall low-profile design
  • Ultraviolet-protection fully multi-coated optics prevent damaging radiation from getting to the user's eyes, while maximizing visible light transmission to produce high-contrast images with accurate colors and enhanced clarity
  • 58° apparent angle of view approaches wide angle to minimize the appearance of the distracting visible hand-shake that is common when holding high-power optics
  • Generous 304-foot field of view at 1000 yards
Use and Handling
  • Short closed-bridge/dual-hinge design helps to cut weight while offering a solid platform for the internal focusing mechanism
  • Center fast-close-focus system allows the user to change focus from the minimum distance to infinity with minimal rotation to quickly change subjects or track moving targets
  • ±5 right-eye dioptric correction enables users to compensate for individual optical prescriptions for sharper views
  • 56-73mm interpupillary adjustment range allows easy use by those with narrower faces such as children and young adults
  • Fold-down rubber eyecups for comfortable use with or without eyewear
  • 12.4mm eye relief
  • 2.6mm exit pupil

I retuned these. Could not get them focused properly to my eyes. Always foggy on the outer edges. The eye cups are difficult to keep adjusted. I am not a glasses wearer. However it seems they are made well.

Excellent product, very portable

I purchased my first pair over a year ago at the Annapolis boat show. Outperforms many more expensive competitors. Good size, easy to carry. Good for sports, outdoors and boating. I purchased two more pair for gifts.

Fantastic Clarity

Cons: Ease of Focus (very fast),Super Sharp(like the name) the flexible eye cups are a big deal allowing you to seal your eyes eliminating light pollution from the sides of eye. Careful though the eye cups can fall off as my last pair did.
