Multi-coated glass elements reduce the effects of lens flare and ghosting for greater contrast and maintained color accuracy. An AF/MF switch on the lens barrel permits quick switching between focusing methods, and the lens can focus as closely as 1.5' to suit photographing close-up subjects. Additionally, gold-plated contacts permit working with all exposure modes as well as transferring lens information to the EXIF data. how comparable is this to canons 50mm?would it be okay for the discount or should I just spend the extra for canon?
They are very similar. Not easy to tell the difference if there is any. The only thing is that if there is any malfunctions with the camera and lens, canon will not honor
