Sennheiser 506381 Overview

  • 1Description

The ivory Momentum 2 Bluetooth Over-Ear Wireless Headphone with Integrated Microphone from Sennheiser is a closed circumaural headphone with active noise cancellation and can be used with various devices such as portable phones, recorders, tablets, and more.

The Momentum 2 Bluetooth headphone has several other features built into it such as ear cups attached to high-end ball joints, sliders made of stainless steel, and an attractive seamed-leather covering on the collapsible ear cushions. In addition, a detachable TRRS right angled jack cable is included, and the headset can be operated with mobile devices just like conventional headphones.

Setting up a Bluetooth connection is even easier than plugging in a conventional cable. It is implemented via the integrated NFC (near field communication) at the push of a button. This can be done in an instant, thanks to Bluetooth 4.0 standards.
While the hybrid active NoiseGard attenuates ambient noise, the high-definition aptX codec carves out every aural nuance in even finer detail
The ear cups of the Momentum Wireless are attached to high-end ball joints running steplessly in collapsible sliders made of brushed stainless steel

    Sennheiser 506381 Reviews

Momentum 2 Bluetooth Over-Ear Wireless Headphone with Integrated Microphone (Ivory) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Headphones I wasnt sure if the noise cancelling and blue tooth features would effect the sound quality of the headphones. Let me say I own a conventional pair of Sennheiser Momentum wired headphones as well, and they are wonderful. The Momentum 2 sound even better! I can wear them for hours at a time as well in complete comfort. They're addicting. Oftentimes I have to force myself to take them off! The noise cancelling feature is excellent. I can have the vacuum cleaner on full blast and not hear it when music is playing. Blue tooth works beautifully and I can go a fairly good distance from the source media device and still have perfect sound.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product but not meant for small heads I wanted to avoid getting tangled up in cords and wires but hate sacrificing sound quality for bluetooth. No problem with these! They sound great both corded and wireless, and are beautiful to look at too! I got two pairs, one for myself and one as a gift. Unfortunately, though they do technically fit around my head on the smallest setting (I'm a pretty small person with a small head to match), they are obviously not meant to really fit someone that size because the band can't rest properly around the ears/on top of my head and causes really bad headaches. Pity, because I really love them and hate to return them...but I can barely wear them for an hour without feeling pain and I usually wear headphones all day at work!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OMG The very first thing I did leaving B&H was grab the wired cable and plugged it in to my iPhone 6+ for a quick hit (battery is at zero in the box) - I dialed up Breathe from Dark Side - as the first note hit the cans I knew the new Momentum 2 Blue Stage as they're called on the box, were something really special and a serious upgrade from the Momentum 1 wired. Just a few quick impressions - sound quality is really what I was looking for, I've tried every headphone in this price range, Bluetooth and wired, Zik, Logitech, the list goes on, these have the best sound quality I've experienced yet. They also are much more comfortable and professional feeling than the Momentum 1 (headphones that I also absolutely loved) - the ear cups are bigger and better for long-term listening like a cross country plane trip or a day plugged in to a Macbook Pro video editing. Bluetooth is quick and responsive and the sound quality matches wired. The controls are easy to find on the right side, even though the volume switch doesn't seem to work if you're hard-wired in - wondering if I can use my remote control cable from Momentum 1's. Very psyched to buckle in with these cans, definitely a huge upgrade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sennheiser sound on the go... The Sennheiser Momentum is a product series whose goal is to merge the two most difficult attributes in modern day headphones, style and sonic performance. Here before you is the refinement of the original Momentum that started it all, the Momentum 2. The Momentum 2's packaging is typical of Sennheiser and immediately showcases quality and first class workmanship. Upon removal of the lid, the much reduced in size case is first apparent. The cable is mostly similar to the first iteration but no longer does it have the steel constructed in-line microphone and controls. You then get your typical quick start guide and Sennheiser's 2 year warranty registration booklet. Here is where the Momentum 2 simply outclasses nearly all headphones immediately. Not only do you get a protective zipper case, you also get a pouch. Nowadays the trend for such expensive headphones is to only include a pouch which is a slap in the face for such a costly investment. To even go further, Sennheiser includes foam to help keep the integrity of the pads composure while folded up. Now that's what I call quality packaging. And yea, folding, the new Momentum's can now fold which is nothing new in this day and age, but hey better late than never. The Sennheiser Momentum is simply gorgeous to look at. It's a very simple design at heart, but it's so well executed and tastefully down from the stainless steel arched headband, the glistening holographic Sennheiser logo and the stitched leather on the top of the headband. The ear pads are entirely redesigned and are soft to the touch. Finally, these can be safely called over the ear headphones thanks to the much larger in diameter opening of the pads in comparison to the previous iteration of the Momentum. The headband is essentially the same and maintains that fashionable low profile design that keeps the uniformity of the arch close to the head and reduces the bulge effect of larger headphones. Here we see steel reinforced folding mechanism that grants the Momentum 2 the ability to collapse down upon itself for storage. This should fare much better than something from the Beats Studio or Solo series with their plastic construction. The beautiful sculpted sound signature that I lusted over in the previous Momentum is thankfully unharmed. There's something about the level of refinement and soothing spark to the attack of the Momentum signature that is all too addictive. It's a very forgiving sound that still showcases the refinement that Sennheiser is all too well known for. The bass is very linear from 20hz to 250hz creating this sense of ease to the presentation. Immediately apparent over the previous iteration is the tighter control of the attack and the more precise rendition of decay resulting in one of the best bass performances that I have heard, period. It doesn't quite reach that last bit of laser tight composure of my planar magnetics like the Hifiman HE560, but boy does it deliver a dynamic slam when the music calls for it. Integration into the midrange is seamless like with the previous Momentum, but now due to the quicker pace the bass to midrange bleed that occurred when the bass became too complex in the recording that sometimes flawed the original momentum's has vanished. The midrange presentation is sonic gold. Sennhesier just simply knows the foundation of the music and the tonal balance required to reproduce all of the information recreating a true to life experience. Vocals, guitars, pianos or whatever instrument lies in this frequency all have this robust composure that remains grain less and endlessly smooth with incredible low levels of harsh transient that also induces vocal sibilance. Overall, the midrange is quite linear with a slow descending slope into the lower treble which highlights the lower midrange and restores the natural heft in the sounds in that region. The level of detail rendition is also simply stunning maybe due to the heightened level of treble over the first Momentum or just a superior transducer at work. The treble is very articulated, but most importantly more in-line with the music in terms of emphasis. The first Momentum simple was too subdued here and resulted a closed in soundstage that reduced the sense of speed and clarity of the music. The Momentum 2 raises the treble just enough to revive the harmonic decay in the upper stratosphere, but not cause them to be too bright for their intended use. This welcoming improvement in the rendition of the treble music grants the Momentum 2 one of the biggest soundstage performances that I have yet to hear from a portable headphone. The stage is larger in width than it is depth, but it's very satisfying to hear. In summary, Sennheiser has listened to the feedback from its consumers and reconstructed the Momentum both physically and acoustically to better adhere to their goal, uncompromising mobile performance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Real great treat for a music boy. I have very few complaints about these headphones. They are comfortable, the sound quality is great, and I think they look pretty nifty. The battery lasts a very long time, I don't have to recharge often at all. Also the bluetooth works very well, I can leave my phone in the other room and still hear the music. The noise cancelling, however, is not as good as other headphones I've tried, and they are a little loose on my head, but these are small sacrifices for everything else you get with these headphones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Met all my expectations I wanted these headphones because of the sound quality and convenience of being wireless, noise cancelling was not a feature that I necessarily wanted and was a little hesitant about the technology because I had (much cheaper) noise cancelling headphones in the past that created a pressure sensation in my head. Not the case with these phones, the noise cancelling works great so far (haven't tried them on an airplane yet) and the sound quality is phenomenal. I'm admittedly an audiophile, musician, and occasional producer and for those applications it's convenient to have the wired option for higher quality sound. But mostly these are for listening to music in a noisy office environment and for that I could ask for anything better. Highly recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Be a little patient! The sound pays off. Very nice headphone. I bought it for its outlook as the first reason. In fact, I have bought bose quietcomfort 35 before it. After I tested the Momentum 2 on my ears, I decided to reture the bose and buy the other instead. I love the bass more because it feels more controlled. I reserved a star for the reason that the momentum 2 is not so comfortable if you wear it more than 2 hours. Maybe it is because I have larger ears. In the first week, it is terribly uncomfortable. The ears just complained of the cushions sitting long-time on them. But after one week, somehow it became not so obvious. So give it a try. If you get a little uncomfortable in the beginning, just give it a little time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sexiest pair of headset ever! First, I'm not an audiophile, nor do I know a whole lot about headsets to make a thorough review, but I did a lot of research before buying these and compared them to as many as I could. The quality is what stands out the most; from the packaging to all the finishing details. They do not look or feel cheap in any way. I noticed a lot of people being very critic on how comfortable headsets are in just about every review I read... Well I'm sure these are nothing to worry about because they are so comfortable that you don't want to take them off. The earcups also seal very well the ambient noise. The part were I'm not very savvy about is sound quality, but I can tell you that I have never owned before anything that sounded so well. I listen to a lot of music that I stream, so I know that the quality of the streaming service can vary. I also know that the apps I use have some EQ settings that you can adjust for a better fitting sound. I have to admit that I bought them based on how they look, and the practicality of having Bluetooth and Noise Reduction (tough decision since the version without having those two is almost $ cheaper). Some people complain about Bluetooth cutting out when paired to an iPhone but I haven't experienced that yet. It does happen with my laptop, but my laptop is a little old. It also doesn't bother me because I try to use the cable to make the battery last longer. Besides, I think it's silly to have wireless headset when using a computer.Overall they have amazing sound, they are conveniently wireless and have NR, I will hardly find anyone with the same headset (i.e. Bose, beats), and most importantly: they are super sexy! I only gave them 4 starts because the price is a little ridiculous, but some say that you get what you pay for...
