  • 1Description

The TVS-EC1080 10-Bay Edge Cloud Turbo vNAS Enclosure from QNAP features 10-bays to hold your drives so you can manage, share, and back up business data. This business-class NAS storage solution supports VMware, Citrix, Microsoft Hyper-V, and advanced virtualization features. In addition, it supports two on-board mSATA internal cache ports, and up to 4 SSDs can be used for caching. With a well-rounded set of backup solutions integrated in the Turbo vNAS, critical business information can be safely protected against unexpected data loss with real time or scheduled data backups to a remote server. Moreover, it encrypts your data with military level FIPS 140-2 AES 256-bit encryption, preventing access of sensitive data from unauthorized users even if the entire system or drives are stolen.

The QNAP Turbo vNAS sports a quad-core Intel Xeon E3-1245 v3 processor and 8GB of RAM to enhance the efficiency of NAS-consuming tasks such as running multiple virtual machines, real-time 4K transcoding, and serving large numbers of simultaneous connections. It can stream your multimedia library and is able to perform on-the-fly and offline video transcoding, which converts the video's resolution based upon the device's native resolution. While network connectivity is achieved using its four Gigabit Ethernet ports, this NAS can be expanded with an optional Gigabit Ethernet card or a 10GbE network adapter, which delivers faster data transmissions. Furthermore, QNAP has equipped the TVS-EC1080 with an HDMI output along with USB ports that let you use your monitor, keyboard, and mouse to access it directly.

This Edge Cloud Turbo vNAS enclosure has the ability to house both 3.5" and 2.5" hard drives as well as SSDs. Once drives have been installed, it can provide a data throughput of over 2000 MB/s. For meeting the growing need of storing business data, you can attach optional QNAP RAID expansion enclosures to give on-demand raw storage capacity for the Edge Cloud. To provide an extra boost of IOPS performance, you can install two mSATA SDDs, which are configured for caching. This NAS also supports JBOD and a variety of RAID modes including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10, which can offer data redundancy, speed, or a combination of both. In addition to the hardware features, QNAP has provided a built-in App Center that features over a hundred on-demand apps so you can utilize the TVS-EC1080 Turbo vNAS in limitless possibilities.

Internal Cache Port for I/O Acceleration
The TVS-EC1080 supports two on-board mSATA internal cache ports, and up to four SSDs in the standard 3.5"/2.5" SATA drive bays can also be used for caching. By installing optional mSATA flash modules, the IOPS performance of storage volumes can be boosted. It is suitable for improving overall workflow of random IOPS demanding applications such as database and virtualization. The internal cache port design reserves the space of hard drive tray for more storage capacity.
10GbE Ready
The TVS-EC1080 offers four built-in Gigabit Ethernet ports and supports optional 10 Gigabit high-speed networking via installation of a 10GbE network adapter. Coupled with the support for large storage capacity, the TVS-EC1080 is designed for data centers to store large amounts of data. With a fast data transmission, you can edit large-sized videos on the fly without transferring the videos between the TVS-EC1080 and desktop computers.
Capacity Expansion
The TVS-EC1080 supports online capacity expansion by cascading multiple QNAP RAID expansion enclosures to meet the requirements of growing business data. With the QNAP scale-up solution, raw storage capacity can be gradually expanded on demand. It is especially useful for large data applications such as video surveillance, data archiving, TV broadcast storage, and more.
4K2K Ultra-High-Definition Ready
The TVS-EC1080's high quality hardware allows you to smoothly play 4K2K videos on an HDTV with Kodi local display through HDMI without heavily consuming system resources. Featuring Intel HD Graphics P4600, the TVS-EC1080 delivers enhanced real-time 4K2K (H.264) and 1080p video transcoding, which converts videos to universal formats that can be smoothly played on PCs, mobile devices, and Smart TVs. It allows multiple devices to simultaneously view different videos stored on the TVS-EC880 with on-the-fly hardware accelerated transcoding.

With the benefit of offline transcoding, even when you can only connect to a low-speed Internet connection, you can still enjoy smooth video playback via File Station, Video Station, and the Qfile mobile app by selecting a pre-rendered low resolution video, saving system resources of the TVS-EC1080 for other applications. The TVS-EC1080 also allows you to set a dedicated folder for automatic video transcoding.
With QTS's intuitive user interface, system operations of the TVS-EC1080 are smooth and handy. Its intelligent desktop allows you to find the desired functions quickly, create desktop shortcuts or group shortcuts, monitor-important system information on a real-time basis, and open multiple application windows to run multiple tasks concurrently, bringing optimal working efficiency.
Quickly and easily find documents, photos, videos, and music with Qsirch, QNAP's built-in NAS search application lets you find what you need in real-time. Simply type in as much as you know about what you are trying to find, including bits of the file name or even words/phrases in the document, and Qsirch will display a list of matches, complete with thumbnails, as you type. Qsirch even remembers your search history so you can quickly navigate to files you've previously searched for. Qsirch reduces the amount of time spent looking for files on the NAS so you can focus on other tasks.
Monitor and Manage Multiple NAS Servers with Q'Center
Q'center turns the TVS-EC1080 into a central management system for managing multiple Turbo NAS units. After installing Q'center in QTS app center, you can use the TVS-EC1080 to centrally manage multi-site Turbo NAS systems by monitoring system logs, updating firmware, and performing maintenance.
