Hawks Leica M Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Macro Helicoid Adapter V5
Key Features
  • M Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera
  • Enables Closer Minimum Focus Distance
  • Retains Infinity Focus
  • Focusing and Lens Release Tabs
The Leica M Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Macro Helicoid Adapter V5 from Hawks adapts an M Mount lens to a Sony E-mount camera but goes a step further by utilizing a helicoid to enable a closer focus distance than the lens can otherwise provide. The movement of the helicoid pushes the lens away from the sensor and, like an extension tube, provides closer focusing capabilities. This Version 5 adapter features a large, button-style lens release tab for easily mounting and removing lenses from the adapter. Additionally, an integrated focusing tab aids in precise focusing control and the adapter is solidly built for smooth, well-damped lens movement.

question

Is this adapter compatible with and work with the Carl Zeiss Biogon 21mm f/2.8 ZM T* lens to reduce its focusing distance?
Asked by: Douglas
I have the Zeiss Planer f2 50 mm zm and it reduces the focus distance, not as much as I wouldlike, but I use it often and I am happy with it

question

Can I lock the helicoid in a certain position?
Asked by: Jung L.
I'm aware it can only be locked in 'normal' or non-macro shooting position. Once you in macro focus mode, it just rotates like a focusing tab. As long as you don't touch the ring, the tab & focusing stays in position.

question

Will this adapter allow focusing of the Voigtlander VM 40mm f/2.8 Heliar Lens?
Asked by: Anonymous
I own a Voigtlander 15mm f4.5 III VM mount lens and use this adapter for use on my A7R2. The adapter is very high in quality, very useful, and I would highly recommend it. The b+h site says Fits Sony E-Mount with VM to E Adapter so I assume that it puts it in the same category as my lens. Therefore, I assume that it will adapt properly. I imagine that it would then have closer focusing capabilities from both the lens and the adapters being adjustable. However, my experience is limited to my own VM mount lens, not the one you are inquiring about.

question

Is this full-frame?
Asked by: Matt
Yes - I'm using it on a Sony A7rII with a Voigtlander lens and it works fine - I like the ability to twist and add length to the flange to enable close focusing.
