Hawks Leica M Lens to Fujifilm X-Mount Camera Macro Helicoid Adapter V5
Key Features
  • M Mount Lens to Fujifilm X-Mount Camera
  • Enables Closer Minimum Focus Distance
  • Retains Infinity Focus
  • Focusing and Lens Release Tabs
The Leica M Lens to Fujifilm X-Mount Camera Macro Helicoid Adapter V5 from Hawks adapts an M Mount lens to a Fujifilm X-mount camera but goes a step further by utilizing a helicoid to enable a closer focus distance than the lens can otherwise provide. The movement of the helicoid pushes the lens away from the sensor and, like an extension tube, provides closer focusing capabilities. This Version 5 adapter features a large, button-style lens release tab for easily mounting and removing lenses from the adapter. Additionally, an integrated focusing tab aids in precise focusing control and the adapter is solidly built for smooth, well-damped lens movement.

Brings New Functionality to Wide/Normal M-mount Lenses

I had to wait several months before this item was back in stock, but it was worth it. A very well-made and quality product. I tried it on my Fuji X-T30 with the Leica 35, 50, 90 and 135mm lenses as well as the Zeiss 25mm lens. It brings new functionality to my Leica/Zeiss M-mount lenses (especially the 25, 35 and 50mm lenses) by allowing close focusing. It doesn't close focus as well on the 90 and 135mm lenses although it does help a little. It does allow focusing to infinity when the adapter is locked into place, and it functions like a normal Leica-M-to-Fuji-X adapter. But once you unlock it to enable close focusing, the lens will no longer focus at infinity. I like that the helicoid mechanism allows the close-focusing distance to vary.

Would buy again, really useful and quite well made

Works great. Really useful and well made with a very good fit between camera and adapter, and between less and adapter (at least as good as with my fuji adapter). Rotating the helicoid felt a little gritty at the beginning but after a few days it felt good. It requires more force to rotate than the focus of my lenses but this is a not necessarily a bad thing. The lock on the helicoid system works well, so does the locking mechanism retaining the lens on my copy. All in all, a great addition and if I could go back I would have bought this one from the beginning instead of fuji's one. The gain in min focus distance is different with different lenses (ex.: huge gain my elmar-m 24mm and not much gain on my tele-elmarit 90mm)

MUST HAVE!

So glad i purchased this adapter. My previous Fotasy fixed adapter did not focus to infinity correctly and i was never able to focus closely. The range of photos i am able to take now are amazing. Works very well for macro-type pictures of you have a long focal length lens. The locking mechanism is a little clumsy. Be sure to make sure it has securely clicked into the little notch in your lens, otherwise your lens will back out and fall off. It took a few uses to get the locking mechanism break in.

Brilliant adaptor.

This is a rock solid interface between a Fujifilm X-mount camera and a Leica M mount lens with the extra added bonus of providing closer focus than a standard adaptor.  I use an X-T2 with a Zeiss Biogon 28mm 2.8 and the results are awesome.  It is a very solid build with smooth helicoid adjustment and zero slop on the camera and lens sides of the adaptor.  The helicoid locks at the infinity end, but with my lens, this is actually past infinity.  It does not seem to affect the optical performance as I tested both ways: 1- setting the helicoid at its stop and adjusting the lens to focus on a distant point and, 2 - setting the lens to its infinity stop and adjusting the helicoid to the same distant point.  I had no problem focussing either way so I decided to leave the helicoid at its hard stop when I am shooting normally, and moving it only for close focussing.  Very pleased with the results!

Works like a charm

I use this with Voigtlander 35mm 1.7 Ultron and it works great. I also have a Fuji M mount to X adapter that is currently on my Voigtlander 50 1.5 Nokton ASPH and wish I had one of these for it as well. Just waiting for more stock.

Does this have enough clearance for the Voigtlander 35mm f1.2?
Asked by: Sean G.
If the Voigtlander lens has an M-mount it should be just as compatible as a Leica M-mount lens with this adapter.
