B+W 65-041209 Overview

Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.

The B+W #950 lens hood is rigid and made of black anodized aluminum. It is designed to match the focal length of standard lenses (50mm).

question

Hi will this lens hood mount on a pentax 645 lens - 75mm 2.8 ?
Asked by: ROBERT A.
As long as the 75mm medium format lens in question has a 58mm filter thread, you could use the B+W 58mm screw-in lens hood with the lens.

question

vignetting when used with a 24mm lens?? thanks!
Asked by: Anonymous
Most likely, yes. The B+W 58mm Screw-In Metal Lens Hood #950 is designed for use with lenses 50mm and longer. The B+W 58mm Screw-In Metal Wide Angle Lens Hood #970, B&H # BWLHWAM58, would be the widest lens hood designed by B+W, however, it is designed for lenses with an angle of view up to 70 wide (approx. 28mm in 35mm format). You would get slightly less vignetting with the 970 lens hood compared to the 950 lens hood.

Would this be a good lens hood for the canon 28-105 f3.5-4.5 zoom lens?
Asked by: Anthony
You may get vignetting on the wide angle setting, I would recommend the Canon specific hood, EW63. https://bhpho.to/36sCces

question

Hi,Can this lense hood mount on Voigtlander Nokton 58mm f/1.4 SL-II N lense ?
Asked by: Anonymous
As this lens hood is optimized for 50mm lenses, I would recommend using the lens hood that is dedicated for the Voigtlander Nokton 58mm f/1.4 SL-II N lens instead: http://bhpho.to/1afvTOE

I wanted to use this hood on a Plaubel Makina 67 with an 80mm lens (about 40mm in 135 format). Will this hood vignette?
Asked by: Murray
40mm is not very wide and the B+W 58mm Screw-In Metal Lens Hood #950 is not extremely long, so it shouldn't vignette.
