Near the center locking joint is the locking lever, which when tightened fixes the arm in its position. The center locking joint is toothed for extra security to prevent slipping. Varavon V7 INCH reviews

Magic Arm V7 is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works I have been through a number of small articulating arms. When I mount an 8 monitor with a full size battery they all go walk about. I have taken some apart to fix the mechanism and found them unfixable. When you overtighten, the expansion joint gets trashed. I gave up and only buy the short ones, the 11 never work. When I need a long reach I buy the big heavy Monfrotto 244 to keep monitors from falling. I needed another short arm and based on reviews tried this one. It is rock solid, so solid I just ordered the 11 version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Little Arm I needed a sturdy magic arm to support my SmallHD DP6 monitor. This one is perfect, unlike some others I have tried, and the price is very nice! It holds firmly while still being easy to loosen and re-adjust as I change camera angles. Build quality is excellent and it looks very professional with the red anodized aluminum knob (which is large enough to get a firm grip on) and the chromed ends. For me, the shoe mount was easy to remove (I prefer to use a mounting hole in the camera handle rather than the shoe mount, and this one makes that easy to do.) Very well made product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functional 7 I was searching for a functional but not too expensive of a smaller articulating arm to use for my 5 external monitor. Some of these arms are way too expensive and some are just plain cheap looking. My V7 Varavon arm is not only functional and stout but it looks terrific too with its polished ends, red anodized adjustment knob. It's compact and very adjustable for a x20 mini arm. It holds the weight of by 5 Varizoom monitor with no problems. I'm giving two thumbs up here!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Deal, Hold Tight. Not bad for a Cheap arm. I'm actually waiting for the 11 to come in, but the 7 worked great for my Cineroid viewfinder mounted to my SLR cage. It holds tight, very tight. I like the burls on the joints. It's a nice touch on an otherwise bargain product. only complaint is that it's a little loosey goosey when you unlock it, but that's true of any arm of this type. With a little patience you can get it lined up just the way you want it. Great price, solid build and quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Ninja Assassin or Shogun Very strong and secure. Just the right length for my monitor mount on video rig. Large knob tightens securely and grooves on joint don't allow slippage. Tried cheaper arms and found them not to be secure. Reasonable price for pro rigging.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems simple but it's not I have a few of these arms and I never thought I would write a review but this one works as it should. The difference is that the clamps have micro burls in them that really help clamp the arm in place. Doesn't budge. Seems like everybody should do this but they don't. Great little piece of gear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bang for Buck Using to mount Atomos Ninja Blade on DVX200. Much better than any of the hot shoe/cold-shoe ball head mounts. Very good for price. Will it last? don't know. So much cheaper than the Noga's I have to wonder about long-term. So far, it holds the monitor/recorder in place very well, a lot of options to position it wherever I choose. I would say that everything locks down 99%. Still a tiny bit of play but certainly worth the price. Very good. Might not survive a daily beating time will tell. Nothing about the product tells me that it wont last, just curiously way cheaper than the others.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flimsy, not as good as it looks. I bought it to be used with an Atomos Shogun Flame 7 4K HDMI/SDI Recording Monitor. I thought the short and somewhat robust arms of the Varavon Magic Arm V7 could handle the weight of the monitor, but it felt kind of flimsy even firmly tightening the locking mechanism. Well... It's a cheap magic arm after all. Had to use a Manfrotto 244RC Variable Friction Magic Arm that a friend brought with him.
