    Sachtler SN615 reviews

Portable Digital Recorder Pouch is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good value and great features, but could be designed better I realize that this is one of the cheapest cases available out there for portable recorders such as the Zoom H4n which is what I use it for, but they skimped on materials a little too much, leaving your recorded exposed to the elements. For most every day usage the case is fine and has standard features I need, but if you end up recording a lot outside in some poor weather, this may not be the case for you. That is mainly what I got it for, and I think it will be fine for my purposes, but if I do end up having to work in some bad weather, I'm not sure if the case will protect the gear enough.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad. I bought the Sachtler pouch in a pinch after the plastic housing on my H4n cracked and I could no longer use the mointing thread. it's a little cumbersom and the velcro belt loop in the back could be a bit longer for times when I want to strap it to something other than my belt. On the right side one of the elastic bands hinders access to the controls but it got me through the last week of a three week location shoot and because it's a Sachtler product I knew it was quality.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tight fit, limited control access I just got this and so my three stars does not refer to quality/longevity. It does feel well made. It's just that it is SUCH a tight fit getting my Tascam DR 100 in and out of this thing. Like, I was worried about breaking things as I worked it in, and, indeed, I discovered I had rubbed off two of the little damper/feet things on the back of my Tascam. Fortunately they just snap back on, but I'm lucky I noticed them on the floor because they are so tiny. The tightness would be okay if you could just leave the recorder in the pouch long term (on the Tascam, the only things that are well and truly blocked are DC power in and the lithium batter compartment, which many people might not need to access very often at all). But because you can't spin the front scroll wheel through the plastic, you would need to take the recorder out any time you need to change from stereo to mono input or make other settings changes. Even those kinds of changes shouldn't come up too often for me, though, so I'm going to try to live with it. I am currently trying to stretch it out a little by stuffing about 1.3 packs of 3x5 index cards in it. We shall see...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No access to remote port on H4n There is no way to use the Zoom H4n wired remote with this case. The port is covered by a side elastic strap. There is not enough slack to connect the plug into the port comfortably. If you force the elastic over the connector, then the whole recorder shifts over and suddenly other ports and connectors are inaccessible. It seems like using the case in this configuration will eventually damage the case. I will definitely be returning this. I really need a case that also allows me access to the remote.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a well crafted product. I purchased this case for my Zoom H4N recorder, and it fits wonderfully. The case is solidly made yet still easy to store when the recorder isn't in it, and its open sided nature allows access to all the necessary buttons for full function, as well as all connections. The belt clip is also very sturdy, and most other models of case for this recorder do not come with a belt clip. This clip made using my recorder very easy in the field.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too tight a fit for me It is a bit of a struggle to get the Zoom recorder into and out of the pouch due to the very tight elastic. I don't really need the case to protect my recorder from the elements, and found a much more satisfactory solution to having the recorder on my belt (a Black Widow camera holster that allow the recorder to be tethered to a tripod socket).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable and weightless It works so smoothly with my tascam dr100. The buttons are still easy to maneuver even with the protective cover in place. I just purchased this item a week ago and I'm already in love.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes Audio much easier! Carrying my Tascam on my belt makes moving around with a boom pole much easier! Controls are accessible and visible on all sides. I love it!
